Narrator's POV
Lisa was thinking
Thinking why Lauren would always stay in the library during her free time
It's not like she knew anything about her
Besides Lauren's name of course and her reputation being the smartest one in her class
The girl wasn't a nerd though
In fact she was well-known for taking down guys at any possible moment they tried to flirt with her, the guys at the school call her "the unobtainable" because no one has ever been in a relationship with the girl
She doesn't have a bad attitude from what Lisa's heard
But she never really socializes with anyone
This intrigued Lisa
"Maybe if you stop staring at your food, she'll notice you" Someone said and Lisa immediately looked at her friend Dani
"What?" She asked confused
"Lauren left a few minutes ago Lise and you're still staring at your food" Dani pointed out
"Come on Dan, I'm just really intrigued by her like seriously how can someone be popular and not have a boyfriend?" Lisa said
"True but come on this is real life Lisa, she can be whatever she wants you don't have to know everything, that'd be boring" Dani replied taking a sip from her cup
"You know what, I'm going to figure her out one day" Lisa said to Dani in all honesty though Lisa has always had a crush on the girl
"Yeah keep telling yourself that, I've been here for almost two years now and no one has ever gotten her to open up and you just got here" Dani replied and Lisa sighed in defeat as she finally took her sandwich off of her plate and took a bite
"One day" she whispered to herself

Lisa just got into the library looking for a specific book for her homework, she knows that she could just go to Google and search for the answer but she isn't really into that, she would much rather sit down and read other than get sucked into the Internet plus this lets her get a chance to see Lauren
And as expected the girl was sitting at one of the chairs reading
Lisa was skimming through the books and she swore that the book she was looking for was at the shelf where she stopped, she started going through it once again but no luck
The girl glanced at Lauren who was shockingly studying her amused, before turning her attention back to the book she currently had in her hands
Sighing in disappointment Lisa was ready to leave when someone tapped her shoulder causing her to turn around and look at who had tapped her
She couldn't believe her eyes it was Lauren
"I think this is the book you're looking for" Lauren said offering the book for Lisa to take
Lisa couldn't believe her eyes
It was Lauren Cimorelli, the unobtainable talking to her right now
"I uh yeah" Lisa said taking the book from Lauren
"Thank you" She added "No problem" Lauren replied giving the girl a small smile
Lisa realized that she was about to turn around when she stopped her
"Wait," Lauren turned around and looked at Lisa waiting for her to continue
"I'm Lisa" She said smiling at the girl who reciprocated the gesture "Lauren, but you probably already knew that" Lauren said smirking and then leaving before saying one more thing "Bye Lisa"
Lisa was feeling embarrassed for how she had acted in front of Lauren but still
The girl talked to her
It may not seem like a lot but the few words they exchanged meant more to Lisa than it probably meant to Lauren
And she's wondering why that is
Maybe because the thrill of getting to know her has just reached it's high where she really needs to know the girl
For the rest of the evening that was all that Lisa could think about

Everyday now Lisa would go to the library, ever since that incident she has never stopped going to it
At some days she would see Lauren looking at her then offer a smile which she reciprocates eagerly wanting to prolong the simple gesture
This has been going on for over a a week or two now and today as Lisa was about to go to the spot where Lauren usually is she's shocked to see that she wasn't there
Lisa was confused since Lauren was always there and considering that everyone else was probably at the cafeteria eating this would provide Lauren with the library all to herself well besides Lisa being there as well
"Looking for someone?"
Lisa's eyes met Lauren's who was standing in front of the door of the library
"I've been seeing you here often now Lisa, why is that?" Lauren asked moving closer and Lisa couldn't help but choke on her words, she didn't know why though, this was the first time she has ever experienced such feeling, she's not sure if she likes it yet
"I've just been... reading" Lisa says and Lauren nods as she was not a few feet away from Lisa
"What have you been reading?" Lauren asks and Lisa now knows that she's been cornered and she can't think of a possible way to get out of this situation
"Why are you talking to me?" Lisa blurts out and Lauren was taken aback but quickly regained her composure
"You really want to know?" Lauren asks biting her lip and the sight made Lisa nod frantically
"I kinda like you" Lauren said and Lisa's sure that her head had just exploded
Lauren likes her
Well kinda
She was so overwhelmed by this that she couldn't form a coherent sentence to respond to what the girl had just said
"I know this is probably weird considering we barely know anything about one another but I can't help but feel like I've known you for so long now, is that weird?" Lauren asks and Lisa could tell that the girl who was always so well-composed is now feeling weird around her
"No, no I'm sorry I just I didn't know what to respond to that" Lisa says the truth knowing that lying wouldn't help her case
"Ugh, I'm sorry about that I feel like I just dropped a bomb on you" you did Lisa thought
"But you know what I kinda like you too" Lisa replies instead and she starts to blush when a smirk made its way up Lauren's mouth
"You do?" Lauren replies the smirk now evident
"I can't believe it it's just that you're the unobtainable" Lisa said
"Well it seems like you captured this unobtainable's attention"
