We're teenagers

We're always told we're cliche puppets
Following each other in peer pressure
Doing drugs
And drinking
And sneaking out at night
And spending our time attempting to control our hormones going up and down
Controlling the urges of nature because it's not socially acceptable
Or not what we're supposed to be doing

We're teenagers
We're supposed to be soldiers
Taking the same steps as the ones before us and molding the footprints for the ones behind us

We're teenagers
We're supposed to be the same
Stay in line
Go to school
Pay our taxes
Every moment leading to our deaths

We're teenagers
We all just want it to end
