Chapter fifteen

The rest of the day was pretty fun.

Amy had showed me a lot of shops that she knew about. Since she'd arrived five days earlier than me she'd had some time to explore the city a bit. We bought some nice blankets and some extra towels.

Later she even showed me some places where she'd thought they had some good food and we even entered one of those to have dinner.

It had been a while since I'd relaxed like this and had some fun.

And to be honest, it felt good.

She told me that there was still a big part of Tokyo that she hadn'tdiscovered yet and that she was looking forward to go there with me soon.

When we were done eating, we took the subway back to the station closest to our dorm. As we went inside we could hear some noises coming from the first floor.

Amy frowned, "I wonder what that eejit is up to now."

I smiled as we took off our shoes and together we went up the stairs, straight to the living room. We pushed open the door and the first thing I saw was Kai, totally engrossed in some sort of game.

Then I noticed that someone else was sitting next to him and as we walked further inside, I almost fell over by surprise.

The other person was Akio.

The boy I met before while having lunch withHanako.

I swallowed, the one I'd found handsome.

When Kai noticed us, he paused the game they were playing and said, "Ah! You're back." He looked at Akio and said, "Akio, this is Nia, one of my room- mates." He then made no further indications to introduce Amy too and took the console in his hands again. At this Amy frowned and cleared her throat.

He grimaced while staring at the television screen, "Oh, and Amy."

She shot him an annoyed look and I couldn't help but smile.

Akio turned towards us and bowed, "It's nice to meet the two of you." Then he threw me one of those brilliant smiles and said, "Actually,Nia and I have already met before."

Kai's eyes widened and so did Amy's. She looked at me and said, "Is that true, Nia?" then she muttered, for my ears only, "Ye gods... what a fine thing!"

I decided to ignore that last comment, though it made me blush a little. Then I nodded, feeling too shy again to look at Akio and said, "Yes, we met through Hanako."

Amy pulled up her eyebrows, "Through your buddy?"

I nodded, still quite aware of Akio being there.

Then Kai said, "Well, now you mention it, Akio here is in fact my Japanese buddy." A smug expression came over his face when he continued, "How's that for imaginary now, eh Amy?"

Shevlooked at Akio again with a little smile and said, "Real. Very real."

Kai pulled up an eyebrow at her response and Akio just seemed confused. It appeared as if they didn't understand the hidden meaning behind Amy's words.

I smiled at that though, for I understood it all too well.

And I couldn't disagree with her.

Amy and I then took off our jackets and put our shopping bags down near the kitchen table. She looked at the screen of the television with interest and said, "What are you playing there?"
