You know that moment when time travels so fast you do not even know how to react.

That moments when you miss a moment of vital information because you are too busy trying to focus on time not slipping your grasp.

Sometimes you miss totally irrelevant things or pieces of conversations but sometimes you miss mind boggling factors that completely change the course of events.

The only thing I remember was my sword hitting the ground with a majestic clatter, blood and pain rapidly seeping from my side as I fell to the floor.

My body crumpling beneath me, knees buckling and head spinning, I hit the floor. Opening my mouth to scream but no sound came out, only gasps as I struggled for breath.

I'm alone, no one to help me, no one to hear my screams, completely alone and I cannot even help myself.

My chest closes up as I continue to struggle to breathe, my shaking hand going to press against my wound. My vision blurs as I open my mouth the only sound coming out as a form of a whisper, a name stuck onto my lips.

"Stiles," I gasp, my voice softy and airy.

I closed my eyes for a single moment and yet when I opened them it seemed thousands of them had passed by.

Scott and Lydia knelt by my side, both of their faces drenched in worry, Scott's hand clenching mine.

"Y/n, Y/n can you hear me." Lydia was bushing her hand across my forehead, her cool skin in contrast to my hot sweaty forehead.

I nodded, my lips quivering as tears filled my already blurry vision. Once it cleared my eyes scanned over both Scott and Lydia before landing on Stiles.

His eyes were fixated on me, his gorgeous orbs covered with a layer of tears, as he opened his mouth slightly.

I gasped as suddenly my pain drained away, my gaze moving from Stiles to Scott. His features were scrunched into a concentration expression as I slowly watched his veins turn from green to black.

"Scott," I whispered trying to remove my hand from his grasp. "Stop." He didn't listen to me, instead his features curved into further concentration. I lifted my hand from where it was pressing against my wound before gently stroking my brother's cheek. "Scott. It doesn't hurt anymore."

Slowly Scott released my hand as I heard the sound of knees dropping to the ground. Stiles' face appeared above mine, one of his tears splashing onto my own cheek.

"I am so sorry." Stiles whimpered putting his hands on either side of my head forcing me to look him in the eye.

"It's only a tear Stiles." I laughed, but it came out more like a mixture between a cough and a sigh.

Stiles choked out a laugh, looking up as he sniffed. Slowly but surely it is getting harder to breathe and I know that there is no way out of this one.

"Stiles I-" I tried to start the beginning of a goodbye but Stiles cut me off as Lydia chocked back a sob.

"Don't." Stiles snapped, his voice still shaking. "You are not saying goodbye. Not now not ever you hear me?"

I smiled up at Stiles weakly, so weakly I not even sure if it can classify as a smile.

"I love you too much to let you go." Stiles sobbed. I lifted my hand slightly to run it through his hair.

Death isn't what you expect it to be. I thought it would be fast and would pass in the blink of an eye others think it might be slow that you savour every last moment. Turns out it is both. I died so quickly but only after an agonisingly slow build up. The last thing I saw was Lydia, Scott and Stiles, all of them mumbling over and over about how much they love me. Maybe it was seeing them that sped up my death. After all they were together and they were safe.
