She screamed loudly in the car. It nearly distracted Noah and he almost lost control of the car. His wife screamed again.

It was a dark moonless night. The stars weren't shining tonight. The city remained engulfed in darkness. The street lights were barely lighting up the roads making it difficult to drive at speed.

He tried his best to stay focused as his wife screamed again. The pain was becoming unbearable for her. He wanted to help but right now, he just had to get her to the hospital.

Sweat trickled down from his brow. He kept driving at the highest speed allowed at the road. When he stopped at the traffic light, she moaned. She looked tired. Her face looked congested. She held her pregnant belly with care, hoping to protect it from the jerks of the brake. They were quivered as another contraction developed.

He glanced at his wife. Only one thought raced his mind, if he could just reach in time, she would be fine. She screamed again and have stepped on the accelerator.

The shadows were growing darker. Streets were empty. It was almost three in the morning and it was getting harder drive.

She screamed again but thankfully the hospital was only a minute away.

But suddenly, something came in front of his car. He couldn't see what exactly it was as he maneuvered his car to dodge it.

Next what happened, happened very quickly; and slowly at the same time.

He had turned the car little too much.

The car was about to hit the divider between the roads.

She screamed but this time it wasn't because of the pain.

His screams didn't come out of his mouth.

He tried to turn the car back, but it was to late.

The car just didn't hit the divider, it turned and rolled over to the other side. He just had enough time to see that they both didn't have a chance to get out, for another car was coming, towards them.

He looked at his wife, she laid unconscious in her seat. He said a small prayer and hoped she lives.

He looked at her and remembered their days they spent in the sun. He smiled and looked at the approaching car.

The car came straight at them and the headlights flashed in his eyes.

Melissa couldn't believe her husband. She couldn't understand why he was so angry. She only wanted to visit her folks. But no, it wasn't acceptable to him.

She had landed a few hours back in the state of Georgia where her family was. She had told her husband she would be going but he probably hadn't expect her to leave that soon. He was busy in work, and she left without telling him.

A few minutes back when she finally got a chance to talk to him, they both had a row. He shouted and she fought. They both didn't back down until she was almost in tears. She had had enough of him.
Just a week won't make any difference, I will be here only for a week, she thought.
In her rage, she took her parents car and started driving. She didn't know where she was going, she just wanted drive.

She just wanted to go somewhere quiet.

She was still crying and she wiped her tears with hand while controlled the steering wheel with other. The tissue box was kept was kept on the adjacent seat from which she pulled out a tissues .

Her phone was lying on the dashboard. She kept eyeing it, hoping her husband would call and apologise to her for his behaviour.

She knew she was driving at a speed limit more than the required one. Things kept falling off from seats and dashboard.
So when the call came, the phone vibrated and fell on the car's floor.

She bent down to pick it up, but she couldn't find it. She kept looking at the road to avoid accident.

She looked at the road again and it looked empty.
So when the phone rang again, she looked down to search for it.

She had almost found it when she heard a screech and loud noise.
When she looked up, a car was lying toppled on the road, and she was during straight into it.

She could see a man inside the car. His eyes filled with horror. She wanted to turn her car to avoid the accident but she was too close.

Way too close.

All she could do was cover her face with her hands and brace for the impact as her car drove into other.

Minutes later, her phone was lying on the road, broken yet functional.
The phone rang again.
And again.
And again.
