The future queen of the United States of Auradon looked out the window. Her seamstress pulled and pushed, yet nothing could pull her away from her stare. Not too far from her beachfront at the castle lay the Isle of the Lost. It used to be an island of poor merchants who simply lived on the coast of Auradon. However, now it served as a prison. The magical barrier keeping everything and everyone in showed as a murky looking net. It wasn't pretty at all, yet the princess wondered her might about it. Then a door opened in the background. The princess stood still, allowing her seamstress to work on a dress but turned her head to see her great uncle walking through the room. "How are you Mabel?" he asked kindly with a warm smile. As a king, he was wearing a suit with dress shoes. His hair was grey with a few tinges of brown. Mabel's entire family had been wiped out by a fire, leaving her the only heir to the throne. This was why she was a princess. "Your highness I'm almost done with the dress" spoke up the seamstress. "You're doing an excellent job Lazy Susan" the king complemented. Lazy Susan bowed on her knees and got back to work. "I've made my first proclamation," Mabel said suddenly. She saw her grunkle blink a few times. "You've already made a proclamation!" he exclaimed. "Yes I have Grunkle Ford," said the princess again. She stood up a little taller, only to be pulled down by Lazy Susan again. "I've decided to have the children of the villains come here to Auradon," said Mabel loudly. The king almost fell backwards with surprise. "But Mabel honey! They're the children of our sworn enemies!" the king shouted. Lazy Susan also looked very panicked. Princess Mabel then started to raise their voice.
"It's not their fault they were born into an evil family! I believe they should have a chance to live here and have a normal life!"
"My brother is not to be trusted! He joined the other side and betrayed us all by burning down half of the castle! Kids would be influenced by him and his motives!" argued Grunkle Ford.
"Maybe he's changed! Never occurred to you did it!" shouted Mabel.
Ford was taken aback. Maybe his great niece had a point.
"Who are the parents?" asked Ford suddenly. Mabel looked like she was about to burst with joy.
"Ms. Valentino or Cruella de Vil" started Mabel. Ford nodded.
"Queen Priscilla Northwest" added the princess. Ford nodded again, though slightly thought she was a bigger threat.
"Stanley Pines or Jafar Jewels," said the heir very carefully. Ford slightly glared but nodded. Could his brother really raise a well-rounded kid?
"And Billeficent the demon" Mabel finished up quickly. Ford had reached the boiling point, though.
"Billeficent was the worst one! He was the one that led to all their corruption and insanity! And you're asking that we bring his child here!" shouted Ford. Lazy Susan packed up her supplies and ran for the exit. Seeing Lazy Susan run, he calmed down a bit.
"Please" begged Mabel.
"Fine. It's decided" said Ford. Mabel shrieked and hugged him tightly. Ford sighed and hugged her back too. Then the 16-year-old girl ran out of the wood room and laughed all the way down. Ford then looked sadly onto the Isle of the Lost. Was he making the right choice?
