8:51 AM

Dear, Self

I've been doing some thinking . I'm still a bit in shock about what I found out but bare with me here.

Perhaps this is just what was destined to happen. Maybe it was fate that bought us together this way. And it is by fate that we keep bumping into each other. If so then it is fate that we happen to live in the same building and I only live a floor up from her right above her.

I know, I know what you're thinking, 'aren't you getting a little ahead of yourself there?' and yeah maybe from your perspective it may seem that way. However this has never happened to me, and what are the odds! What.what other way to explain all this but that it was destined to happen. I mean, when it's meant to be it's meant to be right? And hey look I didn't force it. This all just fell into my lap. So what do you want me to do ignore it over and over again? Walk away and never turn back? I can not, I'm done living like a coward! I am done hiding in my bedroom just waiting for life to happen. It is happening now! And who am I to just disregard the obvious. Who am I to defy god?

Oh but how oh how do I go about it? I can't just walk up to her and tell her I know she lives below me. That would just be creepy. It has to be more natural. Maybe I can just bump into her on my way out and just strike up a conversation, like I just found out myself that she lives here.

Whatever I do It must be natural, it must be gentle so I do not scare away such a beautiful soul like her.

2pm

I find myself pacing her door for hours now. Trying to get a sign, any sign that she is home or that she will be going out soon so I may get my chance.

But as the seconds, minutes and hours have passed by I'm starting to worry she will never come out.

Maybe she knows that I'm here, maybe I have already begun to creep her out.

But I, just wanted to talk. I just wanted to laugh this up over some coffee or tea. I just wanted her to be as happy as I am about this realization.

Lost in my thoughts I finally begin to hear the sound of the door knob twisting.

I scatter to the stairs, I must not get caught. Standing near her door like that it will give her the wrong impression. I jog down the stairs and around the corner of the street out of sight not to look so obvious.

As I see her come out of the building I start to walk towards her but it seems she's headed left towards the park and misses me on the opposite side, Just my luck. I slowly walk in her direction trailing her at a distance. Trying to find a good moment to approach her. A moment that does not seem to come by.

I end up giving up as I see her go into the shopping center because the store she goes into is a make up store and I have no business in that kind of a store and no excuses to be in there. I check out a clothing store in the area since I'm there already and in need to get a new jacket.

The clerk is now watching me because I have been staring at the same two jackets for about 30 minutes and refused help when he asked.

I'm about ready to put them down and walk out because of how irritated his staring has made me when I suddenly hear a voice.

"You should get the grey one!" from behind me. I turn around quickly, clearly startled. She's staring at me with a bright smile as if genuinely happy to see me here. However I'm too shocked in disbelief to utter a single word. She has caught me off guard.

"What happened? Cat got your tongue?"She then giggles like this whole moment is the funniest thing to happen to her all day.

"Uh... n-no.. I just. Well I wasn't expecting to see you here." I say stumbling  over my words but forcing them out as clearly as I can manage while surprised.

"Yeah neither was I ya'know but I saw you through the window and thought I recognized you so I came over. " she says it as if it were no big deal. If only she knew.

"Oh I see..." I'm at lost for words both due to her sneaking up on me like this and by how cute she is today.

"Well anyways I'm actually kinda glad we bumped into each other again."She should not say such things to me I may take it the wrong way. I may get too hopeful.

"Oh , why's that?" I question, I really must know this answer now... perhaps she missed me too?

"I don't know, I just had this weird feeling today... like someone had been following me or something, it was just creepy so it's nice to see a familiar face. " Oh no, had someone actually been stalking her? Or maybe she was just scared being outside by herself or maybe that is just her excuse, Either way this is concerning.

"Ah.. I see well then I'm glad I'm here then." I say this truthfully and confidently.

"Yup. So yeah definitely the grey one." She says pointing to the jackets still in my arms forgotten. I decide to go with the grey and I pay for the jacket and leave, the clerk still giving me a look as if I wasted his time for nothing.

When we get to the corner of the shopping center she speaks again.

"Um.... I know this is weird seeing as we still only just met, but do you mind walking me back to the front of my building, I don't really feel comfortable going by myself now that it's dark out." she looks down at her shoes timidly almost as if she's afraid I'll say no or something. But this is my chance to "coincidentally" find out we live in the same apartment building so I can't pass up this chance.

"Oh yeah sure I understand. I live nearby here anyway so it's not a problem." I say ever so casually like it is no big deal when inside I'm all nerves.

"Thanks! " she replies, and with that we walk to our building I pretend as if I'm about to walk past it when she stops me.

"Um actually this is where I live." She points to the building I know all too well. I act calmly trying to not make this awkward and reply trying not to look too happy about it.

"Wow really? What a small world. I actually live here too. 4 C" I make sure to slip my apartment number in there so she'll believe me and won't question my intentions.

"Oh my gosh really? That's amazing! I'm in 3C .small world indeed to think you lived so close the whole time, we could go on runs together since we keep bumping into each other anyways." She's so excited to find out such news that I find myself smiling along with her like an idiot.

After we walk up the stairs we're about to part ways with a promise to meet in the morning for an early jog. She Stops and turns around                                                                                                              "Wait I never gave you my name, I'm Savannah sorry I never got to introduce myself properly until now." She laughs a bit nervously.

"Oh Yeah, Jack. Nice to officially meet you." I smile I finally know her name and a beautiful one at that.

We part after that. Once I get inside though its almost impossible to sleep.                                  Things are starting to workout, I'm in awe wondering where tomorrow will lead.
