I've been working my ass off these past three weeks. We just tried to put away an athlete who was falsely accused of rape because the person he was working for wasn't happy that he was involved with his daughter. So he had this athlete set up.

I was a little suspicious because of what I had told Barba on the first day but that wasn't up to me. It was hard case and it fell apart quickly.

I felt bad for the athlete. Barba even told me he thought about what I said, but how could I possibly be right? He is an narcissistic asshole who can never admit that someone with a little experience is right. I'm not saying I'm always right but come on, can't I sometimes be right?

What ever. I'm only doing this because this is the last step towards my law degree. I need to do an internship with a lawyer. I heard that I could do this with Barba. He was accepting applications. So I thought why not take a shot and I got picked. I mean I got picked at two other places too. But I turned them down because he's better.

I was out with my best friends Melisa, Sidney, and Eleanor. We were at Melisa's place hanging out on a Saturday night.

I was good at nail design's so I was doing everyone's nails.

"You should've been a nail tech," Sid laughed.

"Yeah forget being a lawyer and my hundreds of thousands of dollars in college debt," I rolled my eyes.

"Why would you want give up that sexy lawyer you work for?" Melisa giggled.

"Stop he's like twenty years older than us," I was grossed out by that. "Besides he's my boss. That would be so gross," I finished up Sydney's nails.

"I guess but he's kind of a DILF. Was he ever married, have kids?"

"I actually have no idea. I've never asked him. Maybe if he wasn't so rude or pushing me to the bone every night, I could talk to him. I've never been so tired in my life," I sighed.

"Not even when we went through lacrosse hell after a loss?" Eleanor asked.

"Please that would feel like paradise," I rolled my eyes.

"Whoa," they all gave me a look. Eleanor was a high school teacher, Sid was working her way to be the top of the business marketing career, and Melisa is becoming a pharmacist.

"Yeah, I just love him," I rolled my eyes.

"You might one day who knows," Melisa laughed.

"Does anyone else want their nails done?" I tried moving on from the subject. My cheeks were burning red.

"Oh my god you're like a tomato!" Sidney laughed.

"Shut up," I stuffed my face into a pillow.

"Do you like him?"

"God no but I hate when you guys say things like that," I got up to get more pizza.

"Maybe because you like him," El smirked.

"You guys are the worst. He's my boss," I blushed.

"Yeah doesn't stop people," Mel winked.
