PROLOGUE:

                  

Ilvermorny was definitely not the school for Venus Jordan. Her twin brother, Lee, had stayed in the UK after what the two of them referred to as the accident. She decided to move away, journeying with her uncle to America. During her fourth year at Ilvermorny, she realized how much she hated it. She didn't really have any friends, and none of her teachers liked her. She was miserable there, and when she told Lee about this when she was visiting over Christmas holidays, he was ecstatic.

                "YOU CAN COME TO HOGWARTS FOR YOUR FIFTH YEAR! YOU CAN MEET MY FRIENDS, AND YOU CAN GET SORTED, AND- oh, I wonder what house you'd be in? I'd say Gryffindor, but you're a lot smarter than me and not as arrogant, so maybe Ravenclaw, but then again-"

                Venus held her hand up, silencing Lee with a glare. "Slow down," she said, pausing before adding, "it does sound like a good idea, though. I'm tired of America."

                Venus had to hold her hand against her twin brother's mouth to get him to stop squealing.

This story is a fanfiction based on the Harry Potter books/ movies, but this is an AU, so some characters are mine, and the plot line is different. Thanks for understanding. Have a cupcake.

HELLO EVERYONE! My name is Em, and this story is mine. my preciousssssss. Sorry, didn't mean to go all Gollum on y'all. Anyways... I'm Weasley trash #1 so I thought I'd make this known by publishing a fanfic about it! Woooo!

Now, if you're reading this, and you vote/ comment on this story, I'm your mom now. Whoops. So basically, as I'm your mom, we need some ground rules. Here's a list of things you should know.

1) NO HATE. I am completely open to constructive criticism on my writing, or debates in the comments (not too heated though) but as soon as I deem a comment to be hurtful to myself and/ or others, I'll block yo ass into next week. Kay?

2) GIVE CREDIT. If, for some wild reason, someone decides to post this story somewhere else, you must say that it was not you that wrote it. I will come for you if you don't.

3) MY CHARACTERS ARE PEOPLE. This means that the first chapter won't be Venus and Fred sucking faces. SPOILER ALERT: Venus and Fred's lives won't completely centre around each other. I'd like my characters to be real people, and I mentioned earlier that this story begins the summer of 1993: That's right, Prizoner of Azkaban, bitches. So unless you live under a rock or some shit, you'll know that 1993 is a pretty busy year, especially for Harry and his friends. Add Venus, Julian, and Allie into the mix, and you'll get a pretty wild story. So yes, this story will have plot. But don't worry, there'll be plenty of fluffy and hot FredxVenus moments. Sigh.

4) YOU ARE ALLOWED TO SWEAR, BUT THERE ARE RULES. Yes, anyone who knows me will know that I swear a lot. A lot, a lot. Like, a fuckton. But there are certain words that I WILL NOT tolerate on my page. Racial slurs, such as the n word, for example. Ableist terms won't be tolerated either, such as the r word. These two examples are words that I have never said in my entire life, and I won't tolerate people saying that in front of me. Have some common sense. Think.

5) THIS IS AN AU. The Harry Potter movies don't follow the books exactly, although they stick to the plot pretty well. It'll be the same for me. I'm following mostly movie plot, purely because it's actually simpler, and if I was to follow the book plot to a T, and add in my own characters, it would be... Well, it would be chaos. haha. But seriously, this is an AU. So, things will go differently than they do in the Potter universe that we know now. It's actually a lil bit sad that I feel the need to set this straight, but so many people on Wattpad get pissed when details are changed. In terms of Hogwarts, classes, Quidditch, and basic details like that, I try and keep as accurate as possible. But alas, I am not a Potter encyclopedia, so, like... Hit me up if a detail is bothering you that you don't think is changed because of the AU setting.

6) THERE WILL BE NO FIXED UPDATE SCHEDULE FOR NOW. It'll be interesting to see how often I update seeing as school starts next week, but I have a few chapters already written now, so I'll get those up first. Maybe at some point in the future, I'll make a schedule, but we'll see. The great part about starting this story is that it's likely the story will follow the real months. That doesn't make sense. What I'm trying to say is that this story starts on August 29th, so it may work out so that the story progresses along with real life. It'll only fuel my fire to go to Hogwarts.

7) ENJOY! I hate setting out so many rules and stuff, but it needs to be said. I hope you love these characters as much as I do. I don't really plan my stories chapter for chapter, but I think I've got a pretty steady idea of how I want this story to go.

There will most likely be an Author's note at the end of each chapter. That will be written in bold, like it is now.

If I remember, I'll also have a song recommendation for each chapter. Feel free to comment song suggestions for any chapters. They may not necessarily correspond with the theme of each chapter: they could just be good ass songs. So let me know.

Again, if I remember, I'll put a date at the end of each chapter. It helps to know how often I update, and stuff like that. It also helps me to see the date on the bottom of the document so I can be like SHIT I HAVEN'T UPDATED IN NINE YEARS OH MY POOR READERS. Don't worry, I won't make it that long.

EDIT: well, not presenting Chaos yet. This is 2021 Em coming at you ;) when I started this story back in 2016 I had no idea that a) it would be as popular as it is, and b) that it would take me almost three years to write.

After slaving away at this thing (all 300-something-K words of it) I have not edited it, and at present am not planning to. So. sorry. If you notice some WILD inconsistencies (of which there are a few) check the comments because you'll probs find me in there all like 🧍🏻‍♂️sorry guys🧍🏻‍♂️... 🕺🏻
