Crazy in Love

Part X

Jason POV

I grumble as the morning light peeks in through my window. It lands on my face and is determined to make me get up.
I stand up and walk over to the window, close the blinds, then go to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I hear shuffling and I peek my head out of the bathroom, but I just see Percy roll over so his face is in my direction. I smile, toothbrush in my mouth.
After I rinse and comb my hair, I go and I lay back on the bed, and pull him onto my chest.
I smile as I watch him sleep, running my hands through his hair. He looks so peaceful when he sleeps. Not like the tortured boy I see during the day.
Gently, I kiss his forehead.
His eyes begin to flutter and soon he is staring up at me sleepily.

"Hey"

"Hey"

"So, do you want to talk about last night?"

He looks down, then nods, refusing to meet my eyes.

"I was in a meadow, and the nature seemed to be attacking me. Then the scene changed and I was on a wobbly bridge. Everyone else was safely on the other side and chanting me on. There were sharp rocks and dead bodies at the bottom of the chasm. I look down, and when I look back up, I...I see you...and-and you're grinning at me...evilly...then you cut the rope on the bridge and-I fall..." He sobs.

I stare at him, wide eyed, then pull him close to me.

"I would never do that to you."

"I know you wouldn't! But am I a bad person for dreaming that you would?"

"No. No, of course not. The fates wanted you to see that. They wanted you to have that dream. Everything happens for a reason, my dear Sea Prince, and obviously, those scenes were important enough that you needed to see them. That's not your fault."

Percy looks up at me timidly and smiles, "Thanks, Jace."

"It's no problem, Perce. Anything for you."

He pulls me down into a kiss, tender and loving, and for a moment, we forget the world. It's just us, and our love, and nothing will take that away from us.

"Now, let's go change then we can go face the world, together."
