Okay, here it is! Sorry for the long wait. Just a note, every chapter I'll be putting up a song that I think goes with it. Take a look at it if you want. Also, I would really appreciate some comments here. Thanks again you guys! Happy reading! I'll try and work faster.

2. Remembering the Past

Sonia and I had to part ways, and I had to head to my 3rd period without her. As I walked, Ms. Jase’s words kept replaying themselves in my mind. Was there really no way to bring back someone’s memories? Perhaps I could find my own way. After all, this wasn’t your typical case of amnesia. Maybe I could beat it out of him? A good, hard hit on the head could bring his memories back. Or maybe I could go with a gentler approach. Maybe I could just do the obvious. I just tell him everything and hope for the best. But then again, that was highly unlikely to work. I’ll just use that as a last resort.

I pondered over different strategies in my mind for a good few minutes, but the feeling of being watched caused me to stray away from my thoughts. I looked around the nearly empty hallway. A blond boy caught my eye. Why wasn’t I surprised? “Hey, Clair.” He said with a sexual grin. I rolled my eyes. “Hi, Eric.” I said in annoyance. “Why so hostile? I expected at least a smile.” I sighed. “And why would I do that?” I asked dryly. Eric shrugged. “Common courtesy?” Again, I rolled my eyes. “Excuse me for not being polite.” With that, I walked away. “Hey, come on, why so serious? Can’t you at least pretend to be happy to see me?” He asked.

“Why would I be happy to see the guy who forces to go on a date with him, only to hardly ever speak with him after?! Or the guy who’s dad shot me and put me in the hospital, and not even receive a stupid card?! Why would I be happy to see a guy like that?!” I was catching the attention of the few people that still wandered around the hallways, but to hell with them! “Keep it down will you?” Eric said in a low voice. I simply narrowed my eyes. “Listen, I would have sent you some flowers or something if I had known you were in the hospital but—”

“Horseshit! You knew I was in the hospital! I know that your dad told you and Darcy about what happened with the bear and how I got in the way! You just didn’t care.” I took in a deep breath, calming myself down. “You know, I was kind of starting to like you a little bit back then, but I guess I made a mistake.” With that, I walked away. “Hey! Come on, that’s not fair! You didn’t even let me say anything!” Eric called. I heard his footsteps pick up. “You didn’t have to.” I said flatly. “Come on, you can’t be mad just because I didn’t go see you in the hospital.”

“Oh no, it’s not just that. It’s also the fact that as soon as we had that date then you totally blew me off! You didn’t even talk to me after that!” I was ready to slap the guy, and it was taking every ounce of strength I had to restrain myself from doing it. “Look, I’m sorry, okay? But you were being all depressed and everything after you got out, so I thought it would have been better if I left you alone.” He explained. I snorted. “I was ‘depressed’ for a month. You could have talked to me after.” I told him flatly. He shook his head. “Well, I’m sorry, okay? Besides, my sister would have killed me if I talked to you. You messed her up real good in that fist fight you two had, and she still has a grudge against you for it. She said that if I talked to you, she’d leak out some photos I don’t really want people seeing.”

“I bet it’s porn.” I said, shaking my head. “Ha-ha. But seriously, you might want to watch out. She’s willing to play dirty now.” He told me, his tone serious. I almost heeded his advice, but instead I just rolled my eyes. “I thought she was already playing dirty.” Eric shook his head. “That’s the normal definition of dirty. There’s a difference between normal dirty and Darcy dirty. Trust me, Darcy dirty is a whole lot worse.” He held my gaze, his serious expression never breaking. I stayed there for a few seconds before I gave a humorless laugh and shook my head. “You’re not going to scare me with your little stories, Eric. Besides, what can she possibly do that she hasn’t already done?”
