"You're it! You're basically the perfect Alayha! You got the look, the voice, the hair, the passion!" He paused, holding up a finger. "But wait, out of pure curiosity..."

Keith's heart sunk slightly. What was it? What if the answer jeopardized his part completely?!

"Uh, yeah?"

"Can you sing for us?" The 'guest' intervened as if asking the question for the director. Keith noticably perked up, slightly relieved. Though Keith didn't think so himself, he had a stunning singing voice. One that he used to use in high school to get all, and I mean, all the ladies.

Or maybe just female family members. So Keith was never the most social teenager.

Keith cleared his throat, rummaging through the songs he'd memorized, looking for one that'd be appropriate to sing for a first audition. When he found the right one, he cleared his throat, patting his leg to keep a steady beat.

"Hold back the river, lemme look in your eyes, hold back the river so I.." His voice was surprisingly soprano, already gaining the blissful sigh of the director. He'd put a hand to his chest dramatically, holding the other hand up to stop Keith's words.

"Nothing more needed! He's perfect! We don't even need to edit his voice, that's perfect too!" Unfamiliar with so many compliments, Keith became sheepish, scratching behind his ear, nervously.

"Director, you're gonna scare him." Removing his sunglasses, Keith gasped slightly, recognizing those eyes from anywhere. No fucking way...

Though he'd looked calm, he was actually quite dumbfounded. Out of all the hours he'd sat there listening to inexperienced jokers with weak performances and vulgar expressions, Lance expected to walk out of that building fruitless. However, this young man in a beige trench coat held serious potential.

The director looked at Lance, and they exchanged positive grins. Lance couldn't help but feel a tinge of excitement that his co-worker had this much talent as an actor. Lance noticed the boy had cherry-tinted cheeks and bright eyes as the director exclaimed his words of approval.

The young man reminded Lance of himself when he got his first part as a janitor in some children's movie. Quite the part. Quite miserable, but still quite the part for his first one. He could see himself in those purplish-charcoal orbs of Keith's and his smile only grew.

"This man right next to me is your co-worker, Lance Sanchez," the director motioned towards Lance, who still sat speechless with a slightly creepy smile spread upon his face.

Keith knew exactly who that was. One of the main actors of his favorite movie, 'Shattered Shots'. It was such a good movie, god, every time he saw it, he'd gotten chills. And cried, but who would admit that? Not Keith.

Lance was still sitting there in silence, making Keith uncomfortable. The director cleared his throat. "Sanchez!" Lance snapped back to reality and stood up stiffly.

"Pleasure to meet you, Kagone! U-Uh, Kogane, I'm sorry!" Lance bit his tongue hard at the embarrassing mistake. Darn, first sentence and he's already made an awful impression.

Still having tears in the corner of his eyes, from excitement and the intensity of the performance, Keith wiped his eyes.

Keith rubbed them a bit too, attempting to figure out if he was living his life-long dream or was actually dreaming. Getting a part this big? With the Lance Sanchez? This was unreal.

His expression of confusion slowly became that of a child who'd looked like they just gotten to Disneyland. Not being able to hold back his smile, Keith had to resist the urge to jump into the air and yell, 'sCORE!'.
