Chapter 9: The truth will set you free

Start from the beginning

I'm not going to have fun I'm going because it's my job. Heck I didn't even have to tell him. I could've just left a note by the bed before I left but no I decided to do the mature thing and have a discussion like an adult. Too bad he didn't get the adult conversation memo. Once I'm done eating I walk out the restaurant and Matteo's car is sitting there. I get in the car waiting for him to speak.

"You can go" he says as if I wasn't already going regardless. "I have some business there that I need to take care of anyway."

I turn to him shocked, "Matteo, no, you're only doing this because I'm going!"

"Everything isn't about you tesoro, it' business."

"We can spend time apart Matteo, it's healthy for a relationship."

He glares at me, "it's in your best interest to shut the fuck up."

I turn to look out the window. I can't believe him days away from each other won't kill us. If we're never apart how are we going to miss each other? Has he never heard distance makes the heart grow fonder? He knows dang well that he has no business in London he's just going to piss me off which he's doing a great job at. Just when I think we're taking steps forward we go back ten steps. When we pull up to my job I waste no time getting out his car making sure to slam the door behind me.

"Danica!" he yells. I stop turning on my heels to face him. He's pissed but so am I. "Fix your fucking attitude and give me my damn kiss" he says harshly.

"Fuck you!" I spit.

He smacks my butt painfully before kissing me roughly. Did he forget we're out in public? I can't help but to groan kissing him back. On some level I understand his crazy need to keep me close. I have to remember that he's never been in a serious relationship before. Whether he wants to admit it or not he's scared, he's worried that I'll leave him for something better. Little does he know regaurdless of how much of a jackhole he is I can't leave him. At this point something in me just won't let me. It's annoying yet oddly satisfying all in one. I pull away wiping my lipstick off his lips.

"I'll see you when I get off" I say gazing up at him. He nods before letting me go. I walk into the building ready to get back to work.

I walk into the five-star hotel and gasp. The entire place is decorated in gold and crème color scheme, with elegant big hanging chandeliers, and a ceiling decorated with delicately painted cherubs. I can't believe this is happening, never would I have imagined being in London in a five-star hotel. Luckily Mr. Coletti is giving me the rest of the day off since we flew private we were able to save time. I check in for the both of us before giving him his key that's when I hear my name. I look and the whole crew is standing there along with Giselle. This is his apology getting my girls to come too. How can I ever stay mad when he's not always a brute? I rush into their arms screaming along with them. I pull away to look at each of them.

"I can't believe you guys are here. How?" I ask grinning.

"Your man can be very convincing" Jas says smiling.

I jump into his arms kissing him deeply, it's one of the best surprises and apologies he's ever done. He groans holding me up tightly as he kisses me back. I can't believe he went through so much trouble to make it up to me. He's really an amazing man when he wants to be. These moments are why I'm fighting so hard. When he proves to me that I'm not wasting my time. When I see there's progress being made in this relationship. I pull away looking into the emerald eyes I adore.

"Thank you, it means a lot to me" I whisper placing a gentle kiss on his lips.

"You're welcome" he says eyeing my lips.
