Chapter 69: Exploits of Mordred Titor

"That's enough. Morialia, haven't you had enough of your fun? I can forgive you for roughing up my guards but these soldiers are not under my authority so you best stop now before the situation becomes complicated."

The Dragon king, Aurendra Sinclair had arrived on the scene to break up Morialia's little 'fun time'. Conceding to his advice Morialia had lifted the effects of [Gravity Well]. Once she did so Padan immediately fell to the floor for over-exhaustion and went unconscious.

"Kuh, then you must be the real Dragon King?"

Recovering from the injuries he received from fighting Morialia, Ashen limped over to confront the real Dragon King. Seeing Ashen's sour expression brought a small smirk onto Aurendra's face as he spoke with near heavenly authority.

"That's right; I will hear what you people have to say so come in."

...

Three days had passed since the Stratus Elves had come back victorious from their war with the undead army. For the past few days Stratus had been in a state of morn over the loss of the brave Elven, but at the same time they were grateful that with their deaths others could survive another day.

As the war ended, Cecilia Albion, Stratus' Matriarch had fallen unconscious due to overexertion. It was only now after 72 hours of uninterrupted sleep that she was able to recover her full strength. Staying by her bedside without leaving even once was a innocent and pitiful goddess, Mildred.

"Cecilia...!"

As her dear friend opened her eyes once more Mildred rushed to hug the matriarch. She had called her name so many times during her sleep but this time it carried a happier intention.

"Ow... Mildred please, I haven't moved in so long that my body feels stiff."

Cecilia spoke as she softly pushed Mildred aside. She stretched her body and activated some spells, confirming that nothing was out of order.

"Oh, you're finally awake, that's good to see. I was wondering if you would never wake up."

Casec commented, he had been in the hospitality of the Elves for his war efforts. His mission was not yet over; he had to find out more information about what was going on here, especially now that there was the appearance of a strange undead army. Though he didn't have detective level insight like the prince or Mordred he knew that there was still something amiss about the situation. Not even the Elves themselves knew much about their World Tree, despite being the center of their worship.

"You are... ?"

Cecilia asked, perhaps it was temporarily amnesia but she did not recall his name. She did have some feeling of know who he was but some of the information was blurred, though that itself wasn't too big of a surprise. Casec casually smiled as he introduced himself for a second time.

"My name is Casec, I hail from Xagontetia. I'm on a mission to figure out what's been going on with the World Tree and the demonic mana that's been spreading as of late."

"Ah, now I remember, yes. We've already defeated the undead army that's responsible for the demonic mana, so things should see a lot of improvement now."

To her response Casec couldn't say anything. What she said was very likely after all, however there as a tracker he felt something was amiss. That this wasn't the end of the issue.

"U- umm, actually... I don't think this is over just yet."

Mildred was the one who interrupted and broke the news.

"What do you mean, Mildred?"

Cecilia asked.

"That... that is that, the defeat of the undead army may have helped but this is probably not the end. Probably. A long time ago my father foresaw this situation happening and said that there would be seven armies."

There was a brief moment of silence in the room before Cecilia asked.

"If you knew that then why were you just holding onto that information?"

"I- I just wasn't sure if it was real... I simply couldn't... because..."

Mildred trailed off before revealing any relevant information as to why she was hiding this knowledge. Cecilia could only sigh seeing the feeble goddess before her. 'I suppose that's just what she's like. However... seven armies?' she thought to herself. It was a troubling proposition, especially if a single army had devastated so many soldiers of Stratus.

"If only father was here... he'd know what to do."

Mildred asked herself silently.

Hearing this it had caught Casec's attention. After pondering about it for a moment every circumstance surrounding Mildred was rather odd. To start with, unlike many of the other gods she was not sealed within a weapon. Though she displayed a strong presence in the war he had been informed that this was not her usual power and that she was usually much weaker.

However it was the final piece that was the most strange about her.

"Father? Did you say your father?"

Casec asked. There were many things that were unknown about the divine entities known as gods however the one fact that everyone knew was that they could not reproduce. Or at the very least there had never been a record of an offspring of a divine, thus it would come to pass that there was no way Mildred had a father.

Mildred wiped her eyes and glanced over to Casec.

"Y- yes, my father. He was an exceptionally strong individual; if he were here then he'd definitely know what to do."

She answered.

"I apologize, I'm not trying to pry into your matters but I thought gods could not bear offspring."

Mildred paused for a few seconds before answering his question.

"I- I'm sorry but I do not know much about the other gods. By the time I had learnt to think for myself the other gods had already been sealed."

"I see, sorry to have pried into a business that wasn't mine, but I do have one more question."

Casec asked for permission before continuing.

"What is it?"

Mildred asked with a curious gaze in her beautiful pink eyes.

"If you don't mind my asking, out of curiosity, What was the name of your father?"

"Yes of course. The name of my father is Mordred."
