Chapter 69: Exploits of Mordred Titor

Start from the beginning

"Fufu~ it's no surprise that you've never seen it before. It's a [Necromancy] spell known as [Usurper's Corruption]; it temporarily corrupts another person's magic and places it under my domain. You could say that it's a magician and cleric's worst nightmare. So as long as I can continue using this it's checkmate. Fufufu~"

Morialia covered her mouth with her hands as she laughed like a villain.

"Not so fast!"

A deep and highly determined voice resounded throughout the canyon; it was Padan's shout as he revived from his head trauma. He got up and dusted the rubble from his clothes then got into another lunging position. He was ready to go for another round against a person who had so easily put him out of commission with a single kick.

"I can't tell if he's brave or dumb."

Morialia asked in a tone of voice that expressed a minute level of surprise.

"He's dumb, he's definitely dumb."

Caroline answered the rhetorical question with absolute confidence.

Padan dashed from his position with breakneck speed and in merely a few seconds he was already within striking range of Morialia. Yet despite this she showed no inclination of flinching and calmly cast another spell to incapacitate him.

"You need a little more discipline and self-restraint. [Gravity Well]."

Without any hesitation or holding back she cast the [Magician] class's ultimate skill that could even incapacitate the Dragon King. Padan was no exception, the moment he got into range he fell head first onto the floor as he was being crushed by the pressure of his own weight. The fact that he was mostly made of muscles only served to make his situation worse.

[Gravity Well] was a special skill in which the effect was not affected by the 10% penalty of being a clone. What was affected was the duration in which it could be used for. For the most part it would have lasted around a minute or two at best, but if a clone used it six to twelve seconds was the maximum, though through concentrated effort this could be extended to half a minute. This was the case because [Gravity Well] was not a damaging spell but a snare type spell. If it didn't make the target immobile that would have defeated the purpose of a snare type spell.

"Rrrghh!"

Unbelievably Padan was somehow able to resist some of the effects of the ultimate level spell, a feat not even the Dragon King himself could pull off. Though if they were to fight head on Padan would lose out but in this contest of raw strength and determination he was a level above. Seeing Padan struggle through to overcome the effects of [Gravity Well], Morialia couldn't help but give praise to his efforts.

Caroline who was being crushed by the effects of the spell could only barely look up in awe as Padan stood.

"N- no way... that idiot is..."

"Rrgghhhaaa!"

Padan's shout circled around the canyon as he took a step forward.

"Ho~ that's... rather impressive."

Mordred who had been calmly standing on the sidelines commented to himself. The most praiseworthy aspect of this entire farce was the fact that this was the unlimited raw effect of a full spell from Mordred. There was no doubt that if [Gravity Well] had a damaging aspect it would've been impossible for Padan to do what he was doing now but this was still quite impressive on its own.

Padan took a few more steps towards Morialia before falling to his knees once more. Yet despite this he did not give up and stood up on his foot once more. He took another three steps forward before being pinned forward in place just trying to resist. Unable to move but unwilling to fall; there was a stalemate, that was until a single powerful clap ceased the entire fight.
