2 days later

"Are you almost ready?" I yelled through the bathroom door.

"Braydon you better back away from that door and stay away" My mom yelled back.

My mom was helping Claire get ready for our date and I kept bothering them.

My mom was getting agitated with me.

"Daddy come play" Dill said as she peaked her head around the corner.

"Okay" I chased her back into the living room and she squealed and laughed before plopping down in front of her blocks and barbies.

"Daddy NO!" She screeched when I grabbed a Barbie.

I immediately dropped it and dill huffed in annoyance.

"She was asleep" She said with a pout.

"I'm sorry, do you want me to sing to her like I do when you're sick?" I asked and she looked appalled that I said that.

"Daddy she's not sick so don't sing"

I heard my dad and Grammy laughing from the couch.

"Okay I'm sorry"

She nodded and then started playing by herself with me just sitting on the sidelines.

"Are you ready for your date?" My dad asked.

"Of course" I said while looking at him.

"What took you two so long?" Grammy asked.

"Well I have a kid so that kinda puts a stop to things" I said and my Grammy nodded in understanding.

"Daddy what's a date?"

I looked back at dill.

"It's when two people go and have dinner"

She looked at me and nodded.

"Can I go?" She asked with her big brown eyes looking at me.

"Not this time baby"

Her eyes started to fill with tears.

It was close to her bedtime so she was in a sensitive mood.

"Delaney do not cry" I warned and she sniffed but the tears fell anyways.

"Stop" I said as I wiped the tears off her cheek.

"I wanna go" She whined and I gave her a warning look.

"Here's your date Braydon"

I heard my mom say so I turned my attention towards the entryway to the living room, letting Delaney cry.

When Claire walked around the corner she had her head down obviously embarrassed but I didn't understand why.

She looked amazing and beautiful and every other word I could think of to describe her.
