When they finally get deep enough into the forest, they decide that is a good place to rest up and meet when they go their separate ways. For shelter, they find an overhang of branches that takes the shape of a dome, but with a big opening. They then set up some paper bomb traps and kunai ones too.
"Ok, finally finished the traps. If anyone were to come by, there in for a surprise." Daiza says as he takes a seat next to Naomi. "So guys, do we have a plan, or we gonna wait for someone to come."
"Don't look at me," Naomi says with her hands up. "I go with the flow ya know. Do you have a plan Katsuro?"
Katsuro puts his hand on his chin and looks up to the sky, trying to think of something. When he does, he points his finger suddenly at Daiza. "Can you sense anyone's chakra? And if you do, tell us how many there are and where they are heading."
Daiza closes his eyes and focuses on the chakra around him. After a few seconds, he could sense the chakra of three people. They weren't far from their location, and they should be able to reach where they are headed if they'd hurry. Daiza opens his eyes and looks at Katsuro.
"Found someone. They are heading East from here, at 1'o clock. It's a group of three people, traveling at a so-so pace, slow enough we can ambush them."
"How fortunate. Ok, here's the plan," Katsuro says, grabbing a stick and begins to draw on the floor. "So here's what I'm thinking. I'll trap them in a double genjutsu so strong, they wouldn't be able to notice until they take a harder look."
"What's a double genjutsu?" Naomi asks scratching her head with her index finger.
"It's where you cast a Genjutsu inside another genjutsu." Katsuro begins to explain. "So even if they release themselves from the first one, they will think that's it and not realize there is a second, and fall right into our trap."
"Good idea!" Daiza agrees. "But how will that benefit us?"
Katsuro begins to draw more pictures into the soil. "The Genjutsu I'll place will be so they'll walk around in circles. If they realize this, they will release it and continue to walk around in circles in the second Genjutsu, but in a different area. Because they walked around so much, they will be exhausted physically and we'll strike!"
Katsuro begins to destroy his plan with hands, making it seem like they attacked. Naomi and Daiza watch nervously as a sweat drops down. When he is finally satisfied from his work, he looks up at Daiza and Naomi with determined fire in his eyes (not literal fire, but fire that shows up in the anime when someone is mad or determined).
"Calm down so sudden genius," Naomi remarks with a hint of lazy sarcasm within her voice. It makes Katsuro mad, but withstands. "But there is a flaw in your plan."
"Oh yeah?! Then let's see you make up a plan in the first fifteen minutes of the exams!"
"Here me out before you start yelling, you butt!" Naomi snaps back. "As I was saying, what if the people we attack have an Earth Scroll, the one we have. I don't want to fight an unnecessary battle ya know."
"We can ask them before we battle to, maybe I dunno, our death." Daiza suggests sarcastically, raising his arms and shoulders.
"Be serious you sad excuse of a full fledge shinobi!" Naomi slams her fist on his head, creating a pale lump. "But seriously Katsuro. We could die over a scroll we don't need."
"I have this this Jutsu where it puts the user in a Nightmare Genjutsu if you don't give me the information I want, and it only gets worse the more you keep resisting."
"That's awesome!"
"Yup, I know. I'm just that cool of a guy." Katsuro says smirking. "But, my hand needs to touch the victim's head in order for me to cast it."
"And I take my awesome back." Naomi stands up and points an accusing finger towards him. "YOU COULD OF SAID SOMETHING LIKE THAT BEFORE GETTING OUR HOPES UP LIKE THAT!"
"Actually, my hopes-"
"SHUT IT DAIZA. ITS NOT LIKE THEIR GONNA BE COOL AND LET HIM TOUCH THEIR HEADS OUT OF THE BLUE YA KNOW!"
"Alright, alright, don't worry your tomato head." Katsuro assures, but Naomi is practically steaming with anger. She also slams her fists on his head, also forming a pale lump. "As I was saying, I have a plan. It's full proof."
Katsuro signals his teammates to lean in. They reluctantly do, but he tells them to lean even closer. When they're ears are basically touching his lips, he whispers the plan, tickling their ears. Naomi doesn't like the sensation. So when Katsuro finishes talking, she pushes his face away and they all stand up.
"If anyone for some reason gets separated from the rest of us, we meet here and stay out of harm's way. Got it?" Daiza says, throwing a kunai into the spot.
"Right!"
Daiza points in the direction where the team is heading. "Let's get this scroll and show this Forest of Death it doesn't scare us!"
"You were the one crying about it in the first place," Naomi mumbles.
"But I'm feeling confident! Now off we go!"
As they attempt to leave their hideout, they all trip over nothing and fall face flat. Naomi looks at Daiza and Katsuro, who lay on each of her sides. They give her the same what-the-heck expression she was giving them.
"Just like how we entered the Chunin Exams."
"Whatever guys. I hope we don't get known for this."
"Right."
The team stands up, shake off all the dirt on their clothing, and head for the unsuspecting team.
