--

lilac looked up at him. she smiled. he looked so peaceful when he was sleeping, his eyelids fluttering slightly once in a while, a smile on his lips.

she would miss him, she really would.  she would miss his beautiful eyes and his optimistic personality, she would miss his beautiful smile, pearly whites and straight teeth.

it was time for her to go.

their love was forbidden, it was unreasonable. she couldn't, she wouldn't let him suffer because of her.

she stood up and turned around to look at him one more time.

she studied him, carving his features into her brain for eternity.

she fished something out of her pocket. a lilac. a small purple flower, a small ray of hope in a hopeless world. she set it on his chest.

she looked up at the sky.

and she cursed the gods.

and she stood, wondering why her existence was such bad luck.

and she suddenly

fell

dead.

as the lilac slowly started wilting, and wilting, it's beautiful purple turning brown, it's beautiful petals curling, until it, too, fell off of ajax, and onto the dusty floor.

forever

forgotten.
