Barry picks up after the fourth ring. "Hey (y/n)," he says. You can imagine him smiling as he read the caller ID.
"Hey Barry... Um listen," you say. "I can't do tonight... The celebration thing. I'm piled up on work from this story. I'm sorry I got your hopes up."
You hear him sigh on his end of the phone. "Okay, totally fine. We can do it another night, if that's okay?"
"Yeah totally!" You agree. "Don't get me wrong, I still want to celebrate. But I have to go, this story won't finish itself."
"Okay, speaking of which I think I might still need to analyze things for cases that were like, days ago."
"You're such a procrastinator," you joke.
"Sometimes," he says back. "Anyways sorry we can't do tonight, I have to go right now. I'll call or text you later to talk, is that okay?"
"Yeah I'll be here," you respond.
"Okay great!" He exclaims. "Bye (Y/n)."
"Bye Barry."

Sorry for the short update. I will have a longer chapter in next week... Or since this is short I'll have another short chapter in in a couple days and then a long chapter next Friday ;)
