These B2 variants got their name from their Cortosis armour, which was lightsaber-proof. Designed by Team Metalorn in a competition against Team Foundry, these droids were highly efficient and could have almost won the war for the Separatist, if not for Darth Sidious to leak information of the droid factory as Chancellor Palpatine to the Jedi, who ultimately destroyed the factory, fearing the war would not go as planned, tipped in the favour of the Separatists.
Manufactured on Metalorn by Baktoid Combat Automata, they stood 1.9m (6ft 2.8in). They had a black photoreceptor. On the end of each arm was a high-intensity dual blaster cannon, attached to a ball joint, allowing the blasters to aim in almost all directions.
C-B3 Cortosis Super Battle Droids defended the Techno Union factories on Metalorn against the Jedi. Although they had had great success over other battles, they were defeated and the factories were destroyed.
