Designed by Baktoid Combat Automata, these were a variation of the B1 Battle Droid designed for space combat. Other than their orange and grey colour, their floodlights, fusion cutter and their jetpack, they were visually identical to the standard B1 Battle Droid. They measured 1.91m (6ft 3in) tall.
They were equipped with floodlights, a fusion cutter and a standard E-5 blaster rifle.
The Separatist flagship Malevolence destroys Jedi Master Plo Koon's fleet using their ion cannon. To prevent any evidence of their ship's information and whereabouts, the Malevolence dispatched a squad of 'Pod Hunters', consisting of four B1 Rocket Battle Droids, one B1 Rocket Battle Droid Commander, and a Droch-Class Boarding Ship. They successfully destroyed all the other surviving pods and engaged Plo Koon's last.
