As the dappled sun creeps into the shadowed bedroom, my heavy eyelids try their very best to open, wincing at the light that greets my tired eyes; slamming shut in silent protest.

Rolling over with my face still hiding into the pillow, I deeply inhale into its cotton material. I have done this for weeks now, in the hope that my sense of smell will have the pleasure of being able to detect just a tiny trace of Jonny being somewhere there within the depths of its downy fabric.

This has been my hopeful way of keeping the smell of him beside me whilst I have slept. Having the fading scent of him there within the pillow, has often comforted me when the pining for Jonny has been unbearable. For that reason alone, I haven't let poor Mary remove or wash his pillowcase.

In recent days, Jonny's masculine scent has eluded me, and on this fine and sunny morning, it's doing it again. That fading scent of him has now all but gone. Ordinarily, on any other day, that would weigh me down with a longing sadness, but today is different.

Today, the sadness doesn't strike me down. Today, it doesn't matter that I'm unable to smell him on the plumped up pillow, because today, my beautiful Jonny is coming home.

Turning my head, I now feel able to face those bright rays of sweet sunshine that reach into every corner of the bedroom. Get up, Jessica! Today is a wonderfully good day!

Hauling my excited self out of bed, I hurry to go and turn on the shower. I am so deliriously excited, I can't even shower properly. Rushing to clean myself, I honestly can't wait to see Jonny. My love is finally coming home!

After my very quick shower, I almost skip down the curved oak stairs. I have The Sound of Music in my heart, The Walton's in my feet and Little House on the Prairie in my ears. I am waaaaay beyond happy right now, and it would seem my effervescent happiness is wonderfully contagious, too.

In the apartment air this morning, there's a distinct buzz. It's almost as if the whole place knows that Jonny is coming home.

In his absence, life has very much had to carry on. However, when someone like Jonny comes into your life, then is suddenly not there anymore, life is simply not the same.

With him gone, there has been this oppressive emptiness following me everywhere I go. An emptiness that couldn't really be explained, but it always could be felt. Without Jonny's uplifting presence, the whole apartment has seemed depressed and dull. Without him being here, even the inanimate objects seem to have been affected . . . because someone like Jonny, simply lights up any room and any place. He brings everything to life because he's such a beautiful person, both inside and out. And after fourteen hellish, long weeks of filming in New York, he is finally coming home, and his apartment and I couldn't be happier about that.

That's not to say that my life hasn't been kept busy during Jonny's difficult absence, because it really has. Most of my time has been split between being here in Chelsea, and travelling up to Cheltenham to spend time with Lissy and Lottie. I also had the worry of returning to work at Mason's Toys with the wonderful Lydia, but it would seem that any worries I had about that, really were pointless. I slipped right back into my professional role, with ease. It's been working really well with me working from Chelsea, and I now only go into the Cheltenham office as and when needed, but I still do like to pop in on the occasional Monday, after seeing my girls. I just kind of miss the place. I miss seeing Lydia and that naughty side of her. I even miss Katie, Lydia's relatively new assistant and her sweet little ways. Hence why I enjoy to randomly just show up, because when I do, it's like I've never been away. It's also a reminder of how far I have come in my life. After everything that has happened—my betrayal to Shawn, the ectopic pregnancy, the press going crazy when they found out about Jonny and I, and the girls not wanting to see me—the awfulness of it all now feels like an entire lifetime ago. When Jonny left for America, life for me just had to carry on. Numbly so at times, but it carried on regardless. For my girls, it had to. Despite my missing of Jonny, I found strength to recover from all that had happened and strength from being with Lissy and Lottie. That's not to say that my stronger self didn't pitifully pine for Jonny, because I absolutely did. I often cried because of my missing of him. There would be days when I would be completely blindsided by it. I could be going about my daily business, when suddenly the thought of him would set me off, and before I knew it, I would be a sobbing mess. Pathetic but true.
