I go over to our spot, it's the old, abandoned swing set behind the school. I collapsed on the middle swing  as per tradition  and burst into tears. It is a ten minute wait until they finally shows up.

"Aubrey, what's wrong?" he asks, worry splashed across his face.

"Chuck," I sob, basically throwing my self at him.

"Bee, what's wrong?"

I ignored his question and continued crying onto his shoulder, I was slightly aware that I was getting his shirt wet but at this point I don't really care.

"Caleb," I say after a few moments.

"Caleb who? Please don't tell me you mean Caleb Stone," he all but begs me.

Unable to answer his question any other way or else I will become a crying mess, I just gave a feeble nod.

"Aubrey," he groans in exasperation.

I pulled away from him quickly, ignoring the look of hurt on his face.
"What? He asked me on a date and I said yes. What was I supposed to do ask for your permission first? Well guess what, C, I hadn't forgiven you, then. Even if we were back on speaking terms that doesn't mean that I will ask you for permission on anything, have I made myself clear?" I snap, barely containing my anger.

"Bee, but-" he starts but I interrupt him.

"Have I made myself clear?" I repeat more sternly this time.

I don't know what made me lash out at him like that, but I just did and for some reason it made me feel better.

"Yes, yes you have, now come here, I miss my Bee," he says open his arms expectantly.

I grudgingly make my way into his arms, relishing in the comfort that his touch brought on me.

"Aubrey, can you please tell me what that dumbass prick did to you?" Chuck asks breaking the comfortable silence.

"Honestly, I-" my phones shrill ringing cut my sentence, looking down I see it's Em. I just hit ignore, I'm pretty sure can wait. The tears now have somewhat slowed, and I can actually talk with out choking on my other words.  "Anyway, as I was saying, he-," my phone rings again successfully aggravating me. "Goddamit, Emily. This better be important," I say as soon as I put the phone to my ear.
"I'm sorry, I called to tell you that your friend Emily, I take it, has been in a car accident rendering her in a coma that we don't know if she cam ever wake up from. She is at Westview hospital," a solemn voice answers me.

The phone drops from my hand and everything around me started to blur and the tears start to well up in my eyes. Everything around me was slowing fading away, quieting down, until it all went black.

I was left with nothing except me and darkness, the only constant in my life.
