"Yeah, but what if the sirens go off or something. That's going to attract attention we don't need right now." Dan said as soon as I was ready to talk which I did not appreciate. At all. Mia had now turned to him crossing her own arms.

"I know that. We have to wire another car." She said while walking pass him to open the back doors of the car; taking four flashlights in the progress.

"That's why we are looking for one." She added once she gave Dan and I our flashlights and walking away to give another one to Lucy.

"Well alright then. Let's go." I said turning around and following Mia and Lucy who had the flashlights in one had and knifes in the other. I had a screw driver in my hand since it was more agile in my opinion. Dan had Mia's gun hanging loosely in his hand.

"You better be careful with that. You drop it and it could fire on accident." I said noticing that we were now about ten feet away from my car, but Mia and Lucy stopped to look at this car parked in front of a house.

"I know how to handle my guns Ace." Dan replied, and even with all the darkness around us I could still make out the slight boyish grin on his face. Is it possible to smack someone's smile away? I'm willing to find out right now.

"Cocky, aren't we?" Mia said now next to me flashing her light in his face which made him wince in pain. Now that's what I like to see. Too mean?

"Does the car work?" I asked Mia turning to look at the car that Lucy was still checking out. It looked like a grey jeep, but I'm not sure.

"Yeah everything seems to be in good shape. We just have wire it." Mia said waking back to the grey jeep. She placed the flashlight on the floor, took off her shirt and wrapped it around her hand to punch the window. The glass breaking didn't make too much noise.

The only thing that did make noise was Dan's flashlight fall to the floor. I hadn't realized that the old trick Dad taught us made Mia show her very tight undershirt in which Dan enjoyed very much it seems.

As soon as she pulled the black graphic t-shirt back on with her leather jacked in hand I turned around and stood face to face with Dan which to my advantage was shorter than me.

"I'm not going to repeat myself so you better listen clearly. That thing that your doing. Don't. I don't want her to focus on anything else unless is getting out of here got it? You get in the way and I'll make it my mission to get you out. Once we're safe you do whatever, but until then back off." I said while trying to calm my breathing down. Things could go terribly wrong if they get involved.

"What if I don't want to back off, Sweetheart?"He replied trying to adjust his posture to seem taller.

Sweetheart? Sweet. Heart. Sweetheart. He just called me sweetheart.

I started laughing. Not that loud and happy laugh oh no. That silent-knee clapping laugh that brought tears to my eyes. I was mad. I was pissed. I was going crazy. Insane even. Once I finished my little post asylum laugh I stood straight with a smile still lingering on my face.

"If you don't listen to me and do what you want to do without a care in the world of what's gonna happen next. Of what would happen to Mia if something were to go wrong. I will show you how much of a sweetheart I can actually be." I was staring right into his eyes lowering my head a little since his eyes barely reached my nose. He was a short seventeen year old.

The motor of a car snapped me out of my stare. I looked back and saw Lucy driving the car out of the spot that it was currently on and stopped right next to mine. Gretchen and Caleb jumped off the roof and stood in front of the passenger window asking Lucy something. As I had guessed the car was a jeep. More specifically a 1990 jeep cherokee. Jeeps were my dads favorite car. It was loud though. Too loud.

"Let's go. It's too dark we can't stay out here anymore." Mia said walking past me to the drivers side of my car. She sat down turning the car on and lowered her window telling Caleb -who was riding shotgun- to follow behind her. If Mia was driving that means that Dan and I will be sharing passengers since he won't want to go with Lucy; for obvious reasons.

"I can-" I cut him off not wanting to hear him say anything. At all. Him breathing was bordering me enough.

"You are sitting on my lap or your going with Lucy." I said walking past him to my car. I opened the door and sat down.

"Where's Dan?" Mia asked looking at me then glancing out her window. To my pleasant surprise Dan had picked up his flashlight and sat in the back of Lucy's car. I closed my door and turned to Mia.

"Well? Let's go." I said and she started driving out of the town with a frown on her face. Great, now I feel guilty. Should I talk to her about it? Yeah I probably should.

"Listen Mia about Dan, I don't th-" I was once again rudely interrupted for the second time in the past twenty minutes.

"Ikissedhim" she said it so fast I didn't hear right. I hope I didn't hear right.

"What?" I asked her with the most neutral voice I could pull off.

"I kissed Dan." She said keeping her eyes on their road.

This just keeps getting better and better doesn't it.
