When I got to school the next day, I was beyond tired. I didn't get much sleep when I got home that day as my mind kept me up until three. But since I was so tired, I skipped my morning run so I can get one more hour of sleep before waking up at six to take my morning shower.

Hell, I even fell asleep in first and second period. Coincidentally, I woke up five minutes before the bell that signled that class was over. I tried to rub the sleepiness from my eyes as I walked to the lunch room to meet up with Joey.

"Someone didn't get enough sleep last night." A voice whispered into my ear, startling me into action. I quickly turned around and punch whoever whispered in my ear in the gut.

"What the hell is wrong with you?! Don't ever sneak up on me like that you idiot!" I shouted at Brett as he bent over in pain. The two nameless men that are always with him went to help him, but he waved them off.

"It's fine, I got it." He breathed out as he stood up, holding his stomach. Something is different about him, I thought as I stared at him. But I just can't put my finger on it.

"But Brett-." One of them spoke to him.

"John, I said I'm fine." He shut his henchmen down before speaking to me once more. "You know, I noticed that I never caught your name." After cooling down, I spoke calmly to him.

"Because I never told you."

"Well, can you tell me so I know the owner of that pretty face?" My eyebrows arched. Something is definitely wrong with him. I sighed with tired.

"I don't have time to deal with your flirty behavior right now, I have somewhere to get to." I said as I turned my back to him and continued walked down the now empty corridor's.

"You know, you remind me of someone I meet a couple of weeks ago."

"Oh?" I reponsed half-heartedly, not really paying attention to him.

"Yeah, she doesn't show her face much but she imputs a lot of fear into peoole. You know who I'm talking about, don't you?" He asked with a sense of fake curiosity. My ears perked at his comment. "She goes by the name of Intimidator." What is he trying to do? I asked myself.

"Why would you ask that?" I looked over at him. John and the other dude kept their distance but was still close and their eyes galring at me.

"Well if you wanna know so badly, I found out that Randy Fisher, one of the teachers here, is the manager for MVP and Intimidator. You know, the two most well known and undefeated racer and fighter. Anyways, I noticed that you and your guy friend sound a lot like Intimidator and MVP and how you two always disappear into Mr. Fisher's room during nurturtion and lunch everyday." I stopped in my tracks as I gained realization of the situation. No, I can't be. Did he figure it out?

"What's the matter Cynthia? You look like you've seen a ghost. Or should I call you Intimidator?" My head snapped to him to see a smug little smirk on his face. "But one can only wonder how the hell you were able to hide it for so long. Honestly, I'm more surprised that the social workers haven't came to take your little sister." The instant he mentioned Celeste, I couldn't help but throw my fist into his face and punched him so hard that he hit the lockers next to him. John and the other guy took at step towards me, but Brett stopped them with the same motion of his hand as before.

"You can call me out all you want, but don't you dare bring my family into this because I can tell you now," I spoke harshly as I grabbed his collar and brought him to his feet. "It will leave you bloody."

"Relax," He said as blood trailed down from the corner of his mouth. "I'm not trying to make you my enemy. I want you as an ally." I narrowed my eyes at him before letting him go.

"And why the hell should you become my ally? You haven't exactly been heart warming and welcoming." I said with the most calmest voice I could muster.

"Boss?" The other guy called to Brett. No longer caring about hiding their relationship. "I know you order us to not intervene, but we can't stand back and watch you get hurt. We-"

"Matt, how many time do I have I tell you to do as your told? This is an order, shut up and stay back or so help me I'll put you in the bottom ranks." Brett's manner completely changed as his disobedient member.

"Yes sir." Matt responded as he bowed his head. I peeled my eyes away from him and back to Brett who also looked back at me. Maybe this won't be so bad after all.

"I won't consider you an ally-"

"What?!" John interrupted. "Do you know how hard the boss as been working to-"

"John, shut up. The same order goes for you too." Brett told him with his voice lanced with anger and irritation at the two. With a quick 'sorry boss' Brett looked back at me and nodded his head, silently telling me to continue.

"As I was saying, I won't consider you as an ally, but you won't be labeled as my enemy either. Being my ally isn't something to be given away so easily, you have to earn it." At my choice of words, Brett's shoulders dropped as he relaxed and gave me a small smile. His eyes shinned with relife and...hope? Either way, the emotions he displayed isn't something that could be faked so easily. He either generally intendes to help me as much as he can or he's one hell of an actor.
