The nurse on duty was one of Leorio's professors.
She smiled gently.
"What do you think?"
Leorio's mind blanked.
Was she really giving him a pop-quiz right now?
But then he settled down.
After all, if she was joking like this.
Glove's situation shouldn't be very serious.
But, he didn't know.
That his sensei's smile.
Was not out of relief.
But rather, awkwardness.
As she had never seen Glove's situation before.
Did not know what to make of it.
Did not know what to do about it.
Did not know if she would be ok.
But, as Leorio took Glove's pulse.
His own faltered.
Because,
Underneath her pale skin,
Her thin wrist...
He felt nothing beating underneath.
