"I don't like to smile. Does it bother you?"

"It does, actually."

Gloves sighed.

She can't afford to let him get close.

So she took her gloves off.

Threw them away;

Killing the mystery, the object of intrigue.

She took her fingers and stretched her mouth into a smile.

"Happy?"

Killua looked sad.

"Not really."

Gloves bit her lips.

She really didn't want to.

She wanted to be his friend.

Yet, the words that came out of her mouth...

Were for his own good.

"Too bad then."

Then, she walked off.

Towards Hisoka.

Away from Killua.

Tears;

Regret;

Pain.

Hisoka watched in fascination as Gloves approached him.

Out of her own free will?

My, my, what a curious turn of events.

But the expressions on her face were simply delightful.

From pain to shock.

Horror;

Surprise;

Delight.

The young boy - Killua - had gripped her by the hands.

He had a stubborn look as he announced.

"I'm not giving up on you that easily. I will make you smile."

Then, he smiled.

"After all, that's what friends are for, Gloves."

Gloves faltered.

Hisoka saw that her eyes had filled with tears.

And as she turned back to Killua,

Away from him,

From the power she could've wielded,

Her savior of sorts,

He could only grin manically.

Because if she wasn't an ally,

He could fight her - kill her.

And he knew...

Yumi will make a wonderful opponent when she ripens.
