When Ash awoke he first noticed how clean and neat everything was, then he took note in how dark the room was which would have been comforting if it wasn't for the fact that his mind was really hazy right now and he couldn't figure out where he was. He felt as though he knew where he was but it wasn't registering to him with how tired he was. He also was trying to figure out where Misty and Brock were. He couldn't remember anything at the moment because it was taking a lot of energy just to keep his eyes open. Plus he really needed a drink but his body wouldn't move so he just sat there, uncomfortable. He didn't even realize his eyes were slowly drooping further and his mind was becoming more and more blank with each passing second.

The next morning when he opened his eyes Misty and Brock were in the room with him. Misty rushed to his bedside and gave him a gentle hug.

"Don't you ever scare me like that again!" Ash had to pause for a second to remember what had happened and when he did he only had one thought on his mind. He needed to get Pikachu back.

"I have to get Pikachu." He whispered.

"No, you're not going anywhere until you are fully healed, understand?" Misty said firmly.

"No! I have to get him!" He yelled, sitting up. They obviously don't understand.

"No. He will be okay, but you need to rest." She said as she put her hands on his shoulders and pushed him back.

"No! You guys aren't listening to me!" He could feel tears coming to his eyes, thinking about it made it ten times worse. Somehow everything he was feeling was too much for him and it channeled into anger. They don't care. They'll just hold me back. I need to save Pikachu.

"Ash, we are listening. You aren't listening to us. You need rest before we can even think about getting Pikachu, you were poisoned." It was Brock who spoke this time. His voice, calm and collected, made Ash even more frustrated.

They don't care.

"Just get out." He told them quietly.

"What?"

"Leave." He raised his voice slightly.

"Ash no. We're here to help."

They'll only hold you back.

"Get out! I don't care what you're here to do, I said get out! Leave me alone!" He yelled.

"Ash..." Misty whispered.

"Go." His gritted his teeth to keep from yelling at them again.

"...Okay." Tears had jut started falling down Misty's face by now as her and Brock made their way out of the room.

You need to save Pikachu.

An hour later they headed back towards the forest without Ash. Brock caught a Tangela, but other than that they didn't do much. It didn't seem right without Ash but he didn't want anything to do with them. They could make it without him.

Ash however got up a little later fully determined to bring Pikachu back. He only took a few minutes to visit the Bulbasaur that was now healing well. When he returned to the forest, he didn't catch anything, just kept his head up and kept going.

This would be easier with Brock and Misty.

No. You can't think like that.

They don't care.

They'll only hold you back.

 You need to save Pikachu.
