The air whipped around me as the leaves fell around my feet. My knees sunk into the Earth as I knelt down. The stone that marked my father's grave was just a simple grey one. For the first time since I've been back I finally worked up the nerve to come here. I only found it because I knew he would be next to mom.

His name drilled holes into me like a curse. How could a simple name make me feel so much guilt for being alive? How could I feel so ashamed that he is dead but I'm not? My father's grave was one of the fresher ones. I could tell by how fresh the stone looked. I told Theo I needed to just see the grave but truthfully I just needed to think.

"So I'm getting married dad. Theo asked me and I said yes." I have no idea why telling a grave that I am getting married was so nerve wrecking. "I've heard that James is doing a great job at being Beta. I would probably not have ever been able to do that job."

"And yet you are going to be a Luna." Even though the voice was familiar it made me jump. Right behind me was James. I couldn't help but run and hug him. I hadn't seen him since the night I was saved since our paths never crossed. "James."

"Have you kicked your mate's butt yet?" Did everyone know what Theo did? Seriously when ever anyone brought it up I felt like a laughing stock. "No. I have no reason to. He is my mate so I forgive him." Everyday I said that to myself so I was starting to believe it. "I know that isn't true Abbie. Just because you were tortured for a year doesn't mean that you are any better at lying."

"It isn't lying if it is true." Was it though? Was I just forgiving him because I longed for his touch during that whole year? Has the mate bond blinded me to what he did? "I don't believe you. You are lying to yourself and you know it." As I looked at my little brother I noticed the changes in him. This past year has taken so much from him and aged him past what an eighteen year old should have.

"You don't know what it was like James. Everyday I wanted Theo to come and save me, but he never did. Everyday I wanted his touch, but I never got it." The more that the words came out the clearer it became that I didn't forgive him fully. Anger started rising like a freshly lit flame. His mate was being tortured and he slept with another woman?

"If it makes you feel better I punched his face when I found out." I couldn't help but let out a small laugh. The fact Theo was probably drunk still most likely added to the fact my brother landed the punch. "Who is giving you away at your wedding?" James asked after a pause. "I don't know James. Probably no one since dad isn't here."

James shook his head. "Nope. You are not walking down the aisle alone. As your only living male relative it is my job to walk you down." Even though he was younger than me it was nice to know someone had my back. Usually it came with a catch though. "Thank you."

"I do have one condition though." Here it was. "What is it." You know that goofy grin you get from random family members sometimes? Well he was giving it to me now. "You need to teach me to dance so I can also take up the father daughter dance." Such a small price to pay for such a big thing. "You have a deal. If we are going to do this though we need to go back to Theo's pack house and start now. No offence brother, but you suck at dancing."

For the first time ever he actually didn't argue with me. He just laughed. "You've got a point. Lets get out of here." James had driven Dad's old pickup truck here and I had walked so we rode back together. In the past year he had found his mate. A girl named Bria who was in Theo's pack. "Have you mated yet?" Sue me for being the older sibling here and asking. He had asked it first in a way that day of the counsel meeting.

"Just because you were gone for a year, it doesn't mean that life stopped. Of course we did." There was a moment of dead silence between us before both of us started laughing. As we drove James told me about what he did. Out of everything in the world, I felt the most guilty for missing his graduation.

As we walked into the house a face was in the gathering space that I never thought I would see again. Louise, I seem to recall Theo banishing you from the pack." The words shocked even me. Before I wouldn't have spoken to anyone like that. Now I didn't know myself anymore. Her smirk irritated the hell out of me.

"I heard you and Theo were getting married. I negotiated a chance to see my family one last time and wish you two luck." Something just rubbed me the wrong way. This girl had made it clear she wanted Theo. Well, two could play at that game. "Thank you. I'm sure Theo will appreciate it as well. I'm pretty sure you can see yourself out."

"Actually I cant." Ugh! If that girl didn't leave soon I would rip her to shreds. "Why is that? Please, enlighten me on what you need to do here to make my life even more of a Hell." I snapped at her. She was giving me a real headache. How I would love to rip her head off.

"I'm positive Theo would like to know I am pregnant with his child."
