It was early in the morning. Me & Anamara headed downstairs to tell my mom this recent news.
"Ma, can I talk to you?"
"Sure baby."
We sat down in the stool across from her.
"I just found out I um ---"
"You're pregnant!?"
"No ma. Worse! I have HIV."
I watched as her face sunk into her skin.
"HIV?" she questioned.
I start tearing up, "Yes. I don't know what to do."

After what I done last night, I need to get my girls & go.
I walked into my mom house & they were in the kitchen.
I made sure my dark sunglasses were on enough to where they couldn't see my eye.
I held my head to to hide my busted lip.
"Why you have a sunglasses?" Anamara asked
"It's sunny outside. Where the girls?" I tried to walk away.
Anamara grabbed my arm, "Hold up." snatched the glasses off my face. "Sunny my ass."
"Oh my God! Lina?!?" my mom grabbed my face.
"I'm alright mom. I just need the girls to go."
"The girls huh? Speaking of them. Ashley said something to me last night."
"Like what?" I asked nervous for the answer.
"Do you lnow she afraid to go to sleep?"
I scoffed, "It's just scary movies I tell her not to watch."
"Hm, by the looks of those bruises on your face I can see why. She says her daddy comes in her room at night. Care to explain that?"
"What!?" Anamara explained
"She's just playing."
"Playing!? are you fucking stupid?" Anamara exclaimed
"Anna sit." my mom told her
"No! My birth mother was just like you. I know the act your trying to put on and it's not gonna work. Your being indenial about the fact that your husband is raping you five year old daughter and you're not going to do anything about!?" she scoffed. "I thought my birth moms was dumb but I guess there's more dummies out there just like her." she got up & walked away.
"I killed him, Anna!" I said crying.
Anamara turned around & made eye contact with me.
