Kiya Reñee Johnson

I put down my phone and exited my bedroom going down the hall to moms room. When I entered, she was sitting on her bed reading a book called "Boundaries" or something.
"When she's reading, she's in a okay mood, great", I thought to myself.
"Hey peaches what is it, is everything okay?" First of all did she just call me peaches? I brushed it off.
"Hey mom, I was wondering, can I go to the mall with Brandy? I really need an outfit for the meet and greet, I have to slayy! Brandy's mom said she would take us, so please??"
"Yeah that's fine, do you need any money?"
Umm I'm confused as to what just happened, did she say yes?
" I'm sorry what did you say mom I couldn't hear you clearly."
"I said you can go, as a matter of fact tell brandy to tell her mom that won't be necessary because I'll take you guys myself." I suddenly started smiling really hard and jumping on top of my mother to hug her.
" Thank you thank you thank you! While we're there, you can even get yourself something to wear, MB can't see you in just anything!"
"Okay calm down Renée and hey there is nothing wrong with what's in my closet already! I don't need an outfit anyway, because I've decided I won't be going."
"Wait are you serious? What made you change your mind?"
She stroked my hair as she spoke.
"Because I realized that your not a little girl anymore. You have grown into a wonderful beautiful young lady, and your more responsible now. I understand that you want your space and that's normal for a teenager. I'm just afraid, Kiya its not safe out here in this world baby girl and I don't want you to leave me. If I could I would lock you in this house forever but that's not fair."

"Mom I'm not going anywhere. I love you",I hugged her and she squeezed me tight.
"I love you too! Now as for the mall, we can go tomorrow at 12:00, sounds good?
"Yeah sounds perfect, I'll go tell Brandy!" I hopped off the bed and started to exit the room until mom spoke again.
"Oh yeah I ordered pizza it should be here in 30 minutes".
"Thanks because I'm starving." I preceded to exit the room. That went good, actually better than good. I turned back around and stuck my head in her door.
"Thanks mom, for everything." She looked up from her book and smiled at me.
"Your welcome sweetie."
I turned on my heels and ran to my room to tell Brandy the good news.

I picked my phone up from the nightstand and texted Brandy.

Kiya Reñee👑👅: Brandyy guess what?

Bestfrannnnn💞💋😏: I don't have to guess your going to tell me anyway.

Kiya Reñee👑👅: your no fun 😑 anyways my mom said that she would take us to the mall!

Bestfrannnnn💞💋😏: Thank Jesus cause my Mom has to work tomorrow apparently.

Kiya Reñee👑👅: I'm glad this worked out then. Oh yeah and get this, mom is not going to the meet and greet with us!

Bestfrannnnn💞💋😏: Guh stop lying😂😂 but fr what time we going?

Kiya Reñee👑👅: I'm serious! She's decided to loosen up a little bit. She's taking us at 12:00 so we will pick you up at around 11:30 ish.

Bestfrannnnn💞💋😏: Okay, I'll let my mom know, see you then!

Kiya Reñee👑👅: Okay see you then, and be ready on time!

Bestfrannnnn💞💋😏: Can't promise you that but I'll try!

I laughed and sat my phone back down. Brandy doesn't know what "on time"means. Which is why she's always running out the door with one shoe on even though I warn her. I love her though.
