#33 He Reads Your Diary

Harry: You'd always hidden your diary on your bookshelf hidden behind a couple books. So naturally when you moved in with Harry, you still did that, hiding it behind the Harry Potter books on the bookshelf in the bedroom. One day you came home from work to see Harry lying on the couch weirdly, his legs were hanging over the back and swinging slightly while he had his arms stretched up over his head so he could read whatever book he was reading. "Hey, babe, what're ya reading?" You asked as you dropped your purse off in the bedroom and began changing into something more comfortable. "Nothing, but I did find an interesting quote: 'Today I ran into the man who I think I'm going to marry one day. Oh my God he's so hot! It's Harry Styles! He asked me to see him again tomorrow!'" Your face turned a million shades of red and you peered out from the bedroom doorway. "How did you find that?" He smiled, "You need to find a better hiding spot next time." He jumped up and pressed his lips to yours. "But you shouldn't be embarrassed; I thought the same thing about you that first day.

Liam: Liam was over to visit your parents' house with you so that you could go through some old boxes that your mother wanted to get rid of. The two of you were sitting in your old bedroom, sorting through boxes of dolls, out-of-date clothes, and books. You were digging through a box of dolls and their accessories when Liam got up to drag another box out of your closet. He was interested by the amount of books that you used to read so when he saw that it was yet another box of books, he started flipping through them, reading bits and pieces of each of them. About a quarter of the way through the box, his fingers touched a cover that was fuzzy and when he pulled his hand away there was purple fuzz and pick glitter adorning his fingertips. He opened the little book up to see pink pages with curly handwriting covering the pages. "Dad doesn't get it. When I say that I'm just not in the mood to go swimming I mean I can't go swimming! I'm not just gonna tell him that I'm on my period right in front of everyone. God that would be embarrassing. Oh well on the bright side my crush looked at me today." He stopped reading after that. "Hey, Y/N, I think I found one of your old diaries." He waves it at you and watches as your eyes go wide and you lunge for it, he pulls it back. "Maybe I want to keep reading it." "Maybe you don't if you want to keep a girlfriend." He quickly dropped the book into your waiting hands and you smirked.

Louis: He didn't think twice about how when he got home from tour your welcome-home hug seemed tighter than normal and you cuddled closer to him at night. He just though that he'd forgotten over the time on tour. Louis didn't find out the reason for those things until a couple weeks later when he was cleaning up your shared flat as a surprise for you. He was making the bed and when he moved your pillow, something fell out of it, onto the floor. It was a red journal with a lock on the front. He tried to pry it open but that didn't work and then he remembered that necklace that you used to always wear that had a key on it. Lou dug through your jewelry box, searching for it, and finally he found it and opened your diary. "The dreams are getting worse since Lou left. Some mornings I've woken up tangled in sweat soaked sheets and I find bruises from me flailing around in my sleep. I've tried hinting to my friends about it, but none of them will listen. I honestly don't think any of them care which is terrible since I've never opened up to anyone about this. Like how am I just supposed to come out and tell everyone that's important to me that my dad used to abuse me? I can't even tell Louis that my dad is the reason why every time we get in a little argument I break down in tears. Grr this is bad I can't wait for Lou to get home." He shut the book, not really all that sorry that he'd opened it because at least now he knew. When you got home a few hours later, he was at the door ready for you, and he wrapped his arms around you, feeling you stiffen in his arms. "Babe, I want you to know that I love you and I'll never hurt you and I read your diary and I just love you. I'm not your dad and I never will be. I love you, Y/N; I don't want to hurt you." He peppered your face with kisses until you finally gently pushed him away. "You read my diary?" He nodded. "Well, now you know why I'm so messed up." Your eyes began to water. "Babe, you're not messed up, you're beautiful and I love you. Always." His lips kissed away your tears and he held you close.

Niall: It was the night before your wedding and Niall was going over to Liam's place to spend the night. He was waiting at your front door for you to come out of the bedroom and say goodnight or something. "Princess, come on! I need to go!" You came out of the room with your hands behind your back. "I know you don't like to read," you started. "But, I think you should read this. It's just something that one of my friends said. She told me that if you'd never read my diary then we shouldn't be getting married, so..." You held out the little pink covered book to him. He took it. "I promise I'll read it. I have to go. See you tomorrow, beautiful." He leaned down to peck your cheek and then he disappeared out the door. That night he actually did sit down and read the whole thing. The boys teased him about the little pink book that he was reading instead of partying with them as his last night as a single man, but he just sat down and read it at Liam's. By the time he finished reading it, it was nearly four o'clock in the morning and all of the boys were asleep. The diary had been a long one, lasting from right before the two of you met until just that very night before you gave it to him. It ended with the words, "I can't wait for tomorrow when I'll finally be able to really call him mine. I love him so much." He didn't know if you wanted him to, but he got up and found a pen and began writing to you in it. After your last entry, he wrote, "I love you too, more than I'll ever be able to show you. You're my Princess and by the time that you read this, you'll be my Queen." And after that, he filled up what was left of the diary with his own point of view of all of the experiences that you'd scribbled onto the pages. The next day when he saw you walking down the aisle he began to cry because you were just so beautiful, at the I Do's he started tearing up again, and after the ceremony he hid himself in the bathroom, pulled out the pen and diary, and wrote in it what he'd been feeling throughout the whole thing. At the reception, he handed it back to you in front of everyone and whispered, "I added a bit to it. Don't know if you wanted that or not, but now it's probably more ours than yours." You flipped it open and saw his handwriting, smiling up at him. "That's quite alright."

Zayn: When he got the opportunity to come home on a three day break in the tour, he did it secretly. He was meant to get home in the middle of the day, but of course something went awry, and one of his flights was delayed. He ended up arriving at the front door at fourteen minutes past midnight. All of the lights were off except for the bedside lamp on your side of the bed. You were fast asleep, a book resting on your stomach, a pen dangling from your fingers. He smiled at the sight and tip-toed into the room, slipping the pen out of your loose grip and setting it on the bedside table. He lifted the book off your stomach and saw your loopy scrawl covering the pages. One phrase popped out at him: "I miss him so much. I want to tell him, but it has to be in person. This isn't really one of those things that you talk about over the phone." What? His brow creased in frustration and confusion. What were you talking about? He started to flip back a couple pages, but you began to stir and your eyes sleepily opened. "Zayn! You scared me! What are you doing home? What are you doing? That's my diary!" you swept the book out of his grip. "What do you want to tell me, boo?" You shut the book, set it aside, and then looked down at your feet. "Boo?" "I'm pregnant." Slowly you looked up at him to see the look of surprise on his face. "I found out just after you left, so I'm about a month along." "That's terrific, Y/N!" He wrapped his arms around you, lifting you out of the bed and swinging you around. A giggle left your lips. "I'm gonna be a dad! I love you, Y/N!" You giggle again, wrapping your arms around his neck and pulling his lips down to yours.
