Preference #8- Car Accident (Part 2)

Harry: You raced into the hospitals emergency wing, head whipping around wildly as you tried to find Harry. "(Y/N)!" A familiar voice called out and you turned to see Paul standing at the foot of a pale blue gurney. "Over here" "Paul! Is he okay?" you asked, rushing over to see a mop of curly hair poking out of the edge of the sheets. "Ask him yourself" he said with a smirk, gesturing to the bed. You looked around the curtain to see a shirtless Harry happily propped up against the white pillows, shoveling chocolate pudding into his mouth. "Oh hey, (Y/N)!" he said cheerily and you exhaled in relief, "Have you ever had hospital pudding? This stuff is amazing!" he exclaimed as you sat down in the rigid plastic chair next to the bed. "How are you feeling, love?" you asked, gently running a hand through his curls. "I'm fine, just got a bit bumped around" Harry shrugged casually before looking up at you, guilt in his pale green eyes. "I'm sorry I ruined our anniversary" he said quietly, putting down the empty cup and spoon. "You're here. I'm happy" you replied simply and he grinned widely, taking your hand in his and squeezing tightly.

Louis: You rolled over on the bed, feeling a thumping pain shatter through your head. Your throat felt like sandpaper and a groan raked across it. "Still alive?" a condescending tone asked and you pulled your head out of the sheets to see Liam leaning against the door frame. "Bugger off, Payne" you spat, rolling back in to shove your face against the pillow. But he didn't, pushing off the frame to come and sit on the edge of the stained mattress. "What's going on with you (Y/N)? You've been really weird since-" "I'm fine, Liam!" you shouted, voice muffled by the pillow. Well, his pillow. But it didn't smell like him anymore. Nothing did. Your heart thundered against your ribs as you squeezed your eyes shut, willing him to leave. "Talk to me, (Y/N)" Liam begged, carefully placing an arm on your exposed shoulders. "I know everyone deals with grief differently, but this is insane" you said nothing, keeping your eyes shut tight against the salty tears welling behind your eyelids. "You're out every night, absolutely wasted doing god-only knows what. I'm worried about you. You're going to kill yourself" "Who cares?" you muttered sadly, a tear tracking down your cheek. "I care! The boys care. Louis would care" you sat up quickly, whipping around to glare at Liam. "You really think he'd care? He didn't give a shit about me!" you screamed, tears now racing down your cheeks. Liam sat in stunned silence, brown eyes wide with surprise. "Do you want to know the last thing Louis said to me? 'You're such a fucking killjoy'. I loved him with all my heart and that's the last thing I'll ever hear him say" you yelled before the sobs overtook, rocking through your chest as tears stained your face. Liam's strong arms pulled your against him, holding on tightly as you cried in his arms. "Lou loved you, (Y/N). No matter what he said, he loved you with all his heart. Please don't ever doubt that. I'd break his heart" "He left me, Liam" you wailed, gripping onto his shirt. "He just abandoned me!" "I know, (Y/N). I know" your best friend murmured reassuringly, stroking your hair. "But he loved you. Don't ever forget that"

Liam: "I told you it'd be fine, babe" Liam reassured you as you sat up in your hospital bed, knees bouncing nervously. "Li, we haven't got the test results back yet" you reminded him, watching the door intently for the arrival of your doctor. "What are they going to say that we don't already know?" he asked with a casual shrug of the shoulders. "You're awake, not concussed, a couple of cuts and bruises-" "I'm pregnant, Liam!" you blurted out, then covering your mouth with your hands. "You're what?" "Well, I was heading to the doctor to double check but that's what the test said last night" you said quietly. "And I don't know if I still am" you added quietly, feeling tear well up in your eyes. A warm arm snaked across your shoulders as Liam pulled you into his side. "It'll be fine, love" he murmured, voice calm and even. "We'll be fine" Just at that moment, the doctor walked in wearing his crisp white lab coat, manilla file in his hands. "Miss (Y/LN), how are we feeling?" "I'm fine, but...is the baby okay?" you asked in a small voice, heart freezing in fear. "The sonogram showed that everything is fine" he smiled and Liam let out a sigh of relief, falling back onto your pillow. "You've got a tough little one in there" the doctor said kindly before disappearing out the door. "Of course she's tough. She's a Payne" Liam said tenderly, gently pressing a kiss to your fabric covered stomach.

Zayn:
"I told her everything would be okay. I said it a thousand times that night, but I never realised I was lying" Zayn murmured, looking down at the faded stain on the pedestal. How many other people had stood up here, trying to be somewhat coherent while they summed up an entire life? "I shouldn't have listened to her, I should have trusted my own judgment and nothing in the world will ever take away how guilty I feel" the congregation stared back at him, the judgmental stares of your mother and sister never leaving his face. "I loved (Y/N) more than anything in the world and if I could trade places with her I would" Zayn said shakily, voice quivering with repressed sobs. He paused and Niall slowly walked over to stand by his best mate, putting a reassuring arm around his shoulders. A tear streaked down Zayn's tanned cheek and a shaky, tattooed hand tried to wipe it away but more fell in its place. "I'll love you, (Y/N), until the day we finally get to meet again"

Niall: Everything slowly came into focus, the blurred edges becoming sharper. I was aware of a dull pain in my ribs and left leg but that didn't concern me much. All I wanted to know was if (Y/N) was okay. A mousy looking nurse wandered into the room, and had a quick look at my chart. "Oh, you're awake" she said in surprise, flinching slightly. "Is my girlfriend okay? The one that came in with me" I asked urgently, feeling a panicked sweat break out across my brow. The nurse came over and started playing with the tubes connected to my arm. "Calm down" she scolded gently, twisting a plastic dial on some machine "you've got some fractured ribs and a broken ankle. Working yourself up into a state isn't going to solve anything" I rolled my eyes and fell back onto my pillows. "Is my girlfriend okay?" i asked through gritted teeth and the nurse 'tutted' at my impatience. "(Y/N) (Y/LN)?" "Oh, that girl. She's fine" she said with a casual wave of her hand. "A fractured wrist and some head lacerations. Nothing major" "Can I see her?" i begged, trying to sit up but she pushed my shoulders back down. "You need to rest, Mr Horan. There'll be no walking on that leg for a while yet" I sighed heavily and shut my eyes as she left, trying to ignore the fiery pain under my arm. Just as my head was beginning to cloud over with unconsciousness there was a quiet voice from the door way. "Niall?" "(Y/N)!" i shouted sitting bolt upright but she shushed me as she hurried to the bed. "Shh, I hand to sneak passed nurse cranky-pants" she giggled, climbing onto the edge of my mattress. I black brace encased her left forearm and some plasters were covering cuts on her face but she looked exactly as she always did - perfect. "I'm so sorry, princess. I promise I'll never listen to Derby while I'm driving again" I apologized and she laughed, brushing some hair away from her eyes. "That would probably be best" she agreed before lying down, cuddling into my chest. I sighed contently and rested my chin on the top of her head, winding my arms around her. "And Ni?" "Mmmhmm?" I replied sleepily, eyes shut. "Derby lost" "Nooooo!"
