SEB GLANCED BACK over his shoulder, at the girl who was hesitating to walk inside as he answered the phone call. His manager was on the other end of the call, and he knew exactly what it was in regards to.
"Toby, hey," He answered kindly, sending Pippa an apologetic smile. She pulled his jacket a little tighter around herself before sighing and walking through the glass front door of the building. She looked somewhat deflated, most definitely disappointed and Sebastian felt awful, but he couldn't ignore the phone call. It was important, and if he didn't answer, his agent would just keep calling again and again until he did pick up.
"Sebastian, I got a call from the studios earlier today, they gave me a date for you to start work again." Toby sounded excited by the prospect, but Seb didn't share the enthusiasm. He'd enjoyed his hiatus, but had only just started to do so properly since Pippa came into his life. He wanted to live a regular life for a short while, but if work called then he had no other option; he'd signed a contract and he had to honour that deal.
"Great, when?" He asked simply, leaning against the bonnet of his car whilst he waited for the response.
"Three weeks."
Seb inhaled sharply and pinched the bridge of his nose, "So soon? That's barely any notice whatsoever." Normally they got a little more time to prepare, a warning in advance of an approximate date.
"Your flights are booked, you're starting abroad like normal, then there will be a short break, then back to filming in New York. They said there has been a lot of last minute arrangement but schedules lined up at the last moment so they want to start as soon as possible." His manager explained.
"Forward me the details please?" Seb questioned, just wanting the call to be over. He'd had such a good night, and this had brought him back down to earth with a crash with the realisation that soon, he wouldn't be able to see Pippa whenever he wished to. In fact, they'd barely even get the chance to text due to long days on set which left him exhausted and immediately ready for sleep.
"Of course, I'll do it right now. Sorry if I've interrupted your evening Sebastian, but the studio wanted me to let you know as soon as possible."
"No, I understand Toby, goodnight." He ended the call quickly, it seemed rude, but he didn't care. He pocketed his phone and made his back to the front door of Pippa's building. The door was still slightly ajar, having caught on the rug on the floor inside and he saw it as an opportunity, pushing it open and rushing up the stairs in search of her apartment so that he could at least say a real goodnight.
