I sat on my couch and smoothed out my outfit, making sure they were as wrinkle-free as possible. I started to fidget as I became more and more nervous over Spencer coming over.

Tonight we were going to do it; I am finally going to lose my virginity. My heart skipped a beat just thinking about what’s going to happen tonight.

I looked down at my outfit - I wouldn’t even give it that much credit - and smiled to myself feeling proud.

I had on a thin-strapped knee-length midnight black dress, but with a twist. Instead of a simple black dress, an intricate lace design covered my body, underneath the lace; I had on a simple black bra and black panties.  Red-soled black lace Louboutin’s covered my feet and made my legs look longer and leaner. I had my hair in loose waves around my face and my makeup was kept simple with a light brown smoky eye paired with a barely there pink on my lips.

I got up off the couch and headed back up to my room to make sure everything was perfect. Every single romance movie was incorporated into my room, I had red rose petals scattered across my bed and candles ready to be lit in clusters around my room creating the perfect ambiance.

I walked around my room, trailing my fingers across the surfaces, and came to one of my favorite pictures. I stopped and picked up the frame as a slow smile started to spread on my face.

It was a picture of Aria, Derrick and I and it perfectly explained each of us. The three of us were standing with our arms around each other’s waists with absolute joy on our faces. Derrick was in the middle and Aria and I were on either side of him. Amy, to Derrick’s right, was staring into the camera with a picture-perfect smile on her face and mischief, as always, in her bright green eyes. Derrick’s arms were around his sister and I protectively and he had a cocky grin on his face as absolute joy was reflected back from his eyes. Then there’s me, I had a small smile on my face but I was also biting my lip as I was slightly looking up at Derrick.

I ran my fingers across the protective glass with a smile on my face as the sound of my doorbell echoed through my house.

I ran down the stairs and whipped open my door with a grin on my face expecting to see Spencer, but instead, I was surprised to see a smiling Derrick standing on my doorstep.

He looked at me with a side grin and let out a breath as he ran his fingers through his hair. “You didn’t have to get all dressed up for me Kitty-Kat.” He motioned towards my body.

I gasped and wrapped my arms around my stomach remembering what I was wearing.  I really have to start looking at my outfit before I answer the door.

“Derrick, what’re you doing here?” That question is starting to be a regular when it comes to Derrick.

He smiled, “Can I talk to you about something?”

I bit my lip and nodded as I walked back into my house. “I’ll be right back, okay?”

After I put on my robe I sat with him on my sofa and waited for him to start talking.

He sat next to me and rested his head in his hands. When he sat up, it seemed that all of the confidence that he had displayed had now simply disappeared.

“There’s something that I have been wanting to tell you since we were dumb kids in Junior High.”

I looked him in the eyes and nodded my head for him to continue

He looked down and let out a final breath before he began, “Growing up, you were always that girl who I felt I had to protect. You were my sister’s best friend and I started to really care about you, I didn’t know what it was so I thought I felt that way about you because you were a sister to me. In middle school when you started getting bullied more, I hated that I was older because that meant that when I left and was in High School, you were stuck in that stupid Junior High with all of those bitchy girls and assholes without me to be there for you.” He stopped talking and looked up at me. “When you were a freshman, I remember all I wanted to do was be next to you to make sure you weren’t hurt by anyone. It was if all my life consisted of sports, school, and you. I realized that I didn’t love you like a sister, I felt something stronger than that for you.”
