Rainbow Town

Scared of walking through this town filled with hate

Hate in their minds

Hate in their hearts

Hate in their very existence.

Built upon years of power and greed

Enslaved by their own mentality

Thoughts iron shackles to their mind's eye.

Gold was their sign for salvation

Now black their hell

Created not by the ones who weep in cracked brown earth

But by pure white dictated by the green of possessions.

Brown emerged with forced intercourse

An addition to oppress and dictate with pleasure

Privilege now white

Free from rule and subjugation.

Shades glistening in the yellowed sun

Partitions black, white and brown from water coolers

Red pumps viscous in skin underneath

Bleeds the same on opened skin.

A rainbow town filled with shared history

Binds together in hate and evil

Colours once joined in fairytales

Now divided in human reality.

Scared of walking through this town filled with hate

Hate in their minds

Hate in their hearts

Hate in their very existence

And now hate in my own soul.
