CHAPTER 03: Abdominal Cavity

THE side of my lips rose as I watch her reciting the Republic Act, kahit ni isa wala akong maintindihan. She looks like a cute anime with her arms crossed and scrutinizing eyes. Hell. Am I actually checking on her? I shook my head.

Hinila siya noong Cherry sa loob ng unit.

Sumunod kami ni Nicco sa loob. Bago ako makarating sa loob ay may confined area muna na dadaanan to leave our shoes. This is too confined and small, dikit-dikit kami, hindi ako makahinga nang ayos. Nanginginig pa ang mga kamay ko habang nagtatanggal ng sapatos.

Napansin ata 'yun ni Nicco. "Bilis, bilis." Itinulak niya 'yong dalawang babae.

"Aray ko pota ka!"

Even the way she says bad word is cute. Hindi na ko makahinga kung ano-ano pang naiisip ko.

Pagpasok nila sa loob ay umupo sina Nicco at iyong cute sa mahabang sofa while that Cherry sat on the solo seat, ako naman ay dumiretso bintana para sumagap ng hangin. 

"Can you keep the window closed? Lalabas 'yong aircon!" sigaw sa akin ni Cherry girl.

"Wow! May paa 'yong aircon, ghorl?"

I blew air on my nose dahil natawa ko sa sagot ni...ano nga bang pangalan niya?

"Lalabas 'yong lamig ng aircon, I stand corrected! Okay ka na?!"

It's wrong either way.

Nang umayos na ko ay tahimik na rin akong umupo sa tabi ni Nicco. "Hindi lalabas 'yong lamig. Papasok 'yong init," saad ko. "Applying the second law of Thermodynamics, the heat tends to naturally flow from high temperature area to low temperature area even without any external agent or factor. Just like how a cup of hot coffee cooling down on its own, because the heat is being released from high to low temperature. So don't say lalabas 'yong lamig, just say papasok ang init."

Nakatanga silang lahat sa'kin.

"What?" I asked. Anong mali sa sinabi ko? Nagpaliwanag lang ako.

Sabrina giggled which made them stopped staring at me. Shoot. Ang cute.

"Anyway, Ms. Cherry the platypus!"

"What?!"

"Why did you do that? Bakit kailangan mong ipagkalat 'yong video ng bestfriend ko—"

"Hindi ako ang nagkalat!"

"Republic Act 9995—"

"Fine! Fine! Okay! It's me! It's all my fault! Ako 'yong kumuha ng video sa phone ni Nicco."

My hypothesis was right. But why would she even do that? Why would she let her fellow woman go down like that? I just don't get people sometimes.

Nakatingin lang kami sa kanya kaya nagpatuloy lang siya sa pagpapaliwanag.

"Nakita ko 'yong wallpaper no'ng phone so it's either kay Jayla 'yon or sa'yo," pagtukoy niya kay Nicco. "I just got curious. Ewan ko ba. You know I hate Jayla since first year, I just want to check kung may mga kodiks ba siya sa phone niya at bakit ang taas lagi ng grades niya."

Nicco once told me that his girlfriend was really intelligent since Elementary.

"Then to my surprise, hindi pala kay Jayla 'yong phone and I accidentally saw the video. Nagulat ako. I mean, I forward it to my phone. I did not intend na kumalat 'yon, I just need it for my confidence, for my self-esteem..."

I'm confused.

"...na kahit gaano katalino si Jayla, na kahit hindi ko siya maangatan, may tinatago pa rin siyang kalandian, that she has still this dirty little secret which is obviously I don't have."
