Supposed to be a 'Nerd' !

Intro

Hi my names Maddison, I live in London and have done since I was 13. I'm 17 now.

I'm originally from Ireland and when I say Ireland I don't mean somewhere like Dublin or Cork I mean the kind of place where nobody can understand the people who live their because the accents so strong. I live with my mum and have done ever since we moved here after my parents got a divorce. I don't see my dad because he has a new family and kids and hasn't bothered with me since I was 13 and my mum divorced him, I'm not 100% sure what happened but I'm also not too fixated on it either.

I always wanted to move to London when I was younger. I always imagined it to be a nice place full of people with an amazing accent, oh how wrong I was not about the accents but about the people being nice. Within the first week of moving here and starting school I wanted to go back home already. Not that their was much of a home to go back to anymore.

Your probably wondering why I wanted to go back if I always wanted to move here. Well it's simple really I got bullied and I still do. It started off with just a small group of boys who call themselves the sidemen, after people saw what they said and did to me the whole school joined in. It's not stopped since then and that was 4 years ago.

Everyone at school thinks I'm a 'Nerd' which isn't really a word I use and I thought only Americans used it but I suppose I was wrong. People think I'm a 'Nerd' and remind me of that everyday because I wore my glasses to school once and only once, I mean come on I need them to see people. Ever since then I wear contact lenses and everyone forgot about me needing glasses but still call me a 'nerd' because I can draw! Seriously the sidemen saw one of my drawings on display in the art hallway at school and never let me forget it.

What made it worse was that Simon, the main boy who bullies me is me mum's friends son. My mum and his parents are friends and when they have dinner parties they send us off together to one of our rooms which never actually happens. When they send us away he shoves me into a wall and either leaves me in the hallway or goes into my bathroom until they leave or he just sits at the top of the stairs whilst I go into my room and do homework, because of us 'spending time together' they all think we're close and really good friends. Which couldn't be any further from the truth but whatever helps them sleep at night.

My mums barely ever at home other than dinner parties, ever since my dad divorced her she's just thrown herself into her work. Which makes it easier when I come home with bruises and covered in stuff that people throw at me. Mum sometimes hits me and is always telling me my dad never wanted me as well as how ugly I am and how worthless I am. Oh and she's a borderline alcoholic! Yeah I know great home life.

I never knew why everyone hates me and I can't think of a reason for Simon and his friends to hate me enough to do all this to me. At least I've only got the rest of this school year and then I don't have to deal with the sidemen or anyone else again, well at least that's the plan. I've always planned to travel after I leave school but money's always been an issue, as soon as I get the money though I will travel the world and hopefully one day I can get the money to move out and away from mum and the sidemen.

Anyway that's basically a rundown of how my life is and how it's gone so far. Let's just hope that everything goes according to plan from here on out.
