Ashanti at the top ^

I shut my laptop screen, placing my forehead against my newly wooden desk.

"Why cant I find a simple summer job?" I sighed, shutting  my eyes. I swear the universe was against me, I glance at the clock hanged up on my white walls reading 8:00 pm. Dammit I completely forgot about Ali family auction.

A loud groan leaves past my lips when I hear my doorbell go off.

Just when I was about to opens her mouth Alison beats her to it, pointing her index finger at her clothing  "Don't tell me your wearing that Ash."

I shake my head no sliding my mac book inside my purse. I don't dare look her in the eye because of the irritating guilt forming inside of my stomach.

"You did, didn't you? Whenever your guilty of something you avoid making eye contact." Alison accused.

"I do not." I defended, even so surprised that my voice didn't squeak.

"I wont be mad Ashanti." I could  hear Alison footsteps approaching and she continues "All I want is the truth."

I peek over my shoulder at her, and she raises a brow indicating that she was waiting.

"Alright I forgot." I tell her.

"I knew it! Oh my god Ashanti! I cant believe you actually forgot my father birthday." She rants pacing back and forth.

I cringe at her loud voice, covering my ears with my palms. "You said you wouldn't be mad." I remind, now facing her. "You look beautiful by the way." I complement trying to change the subject. It wasn't like I was lying though she indeed looks breathtaking as usual. She has her brunette hair tightly slicked in a ponytail, beautiful hand made fitted sparkling dress that showed a handful her bare back, and complemented  her slim model figure.  Alison was every mans dream girl, she came from a filthy rich background, shes smart, breathtakingly beautiful that made guys second glance her.

Alison mumbles a thank you pushing a bag in my hand "Your lucky your my best friend, now change." Alison demands.

"But-"

"No buts Ashanti, now go." Alison says, pushing me into the washroom before I could protest.

My shoulders sag in defeat and I strip out of my clothing making my way towards the bathtub.

"Alison I cant wear this its way too expensive." I breathed out wrapping my towel around my wet body.
There stood Ali holding up a low cut yellow fitted gown, that had at least had to cost a fortune. Their was no way I was putting that on, this is far too expensive for me to repay her.

"Your not getting out of this so don't even start." Alison firmly says, pushing the dress into me.

"But-"

"Oh hush, a thank you would be appreciated right about now."

I roll my eyes for the 2nd time today curling my freshly sued in hair extensions "Your such a pain in the ass, you know that right." I scowl, turning on my heels back towards the washroom.

"I know but you love me so its okay." She  laughs and continues " Now hurry up were already 2 hours late because of you."

"My father going to kill me because of you." Alison exclaims dramatically, we were currently standing at the front entrance of her home where she grew up. I couldn't even listen to what Alison was now rambling about this time, my jaw seemed to be stuck open.

Holy crap! There was no way this could be a 'regular house' like Alison voiced out earlier on, this house was at least as big a museum. Not only by structure but by looks, their were multiple historical architectures  and paintings that had  to be at least  hundreds year old. The long white pillars that were stood tall outside gave the house a unique look.
