em and nani were reading a book together.
"the people in this book are brave"
said nani.
"they fight dragons and giants, and they are never afraid."
"i wonder if we are brave," said em.
em and nani looked into a mirror.
"we look brave," said nani.
"yes, but are we?" asked em.
a mouse skittered from out under the stove.
em and nani shrieked.
they ran all the way to the bed room.
nani jumped onto the bed and pulled the covers over her head.
"em, i am glad to have a brave friend like you," said nani.
"and i am happy to know a brave person like you, em," said nani.
she jumped into the cupboard closet and shut the door.
nani stayed in the bed, and em stayed in the cupboard.
they stayed there for a long time
just feeling very brave together
fin.
