My girlfriend Annabella (but she goes by her middle name, Chris) and I have been "dating" for about a week now, but we haven't left to go on an actual date yet. Well, tonight when she gets home from work, I'm surprising her with a romantic date! Ponyboy gave me the idea. She loves birds, and scenery the duck pond to feed the birds as we watch the sunset! I hope it's not to cliché..... I'm snapped out of my thoughts as I hear that screen door slam. "O hey Chris." "Hey babe, how was your day?" "Ok how was work?" "Hell." We both smile a bit at her last remark. "Oh go get changed." I say, all nonchalant. "Uh.....ok...... For what?" "You'll see." I give her one of my irresistible smirks as she rolls her eyes, and walks off to go get changed. "Uh, babe if I don't know where were going I don't know what to wear......" After what feels like 20 minutes she finally comes out of the room ready to go! "Wow... You look, gorgeous!" She blushes a crimson red as she pushes a piece of hair behind her ear. I grab had and make an exit towards the door. We walk past the lot, through a field of trees, and right as the Sun starts to set we reach the lake. We lean on the old dock, and I pull two pieces of bread out of my pocket and hand one to her. "Here you go." She looks at me, smiles, then speaks, " Wow I never knew Steve Randle had a soft side' "yeah, well...." I begin to throw the slice of bread into the pond when Chris stopped me. "Uhhh, are you trying to kill them!?" "What no!? I'm trying to feed them. How's giving then bread gonna kill em'?" "The'll choke." Duh Steve you stupid idiot! Ok, I really need to stop talking to myself in my head..... it's wierd! I break it up into pieces, and smile as I watch the way Chris, looks so beautiful without even trying. Ponybutt was right, this was the best date ever!!! 💝
