Lucy

It was late November of 1965, the year was coming to a close. I was heavily pregnant with... twins! We're going with Vera Starkey Harrison for our girl and Toby George Harrison for our boy.

I was brushing my hair in the bathroom, waiting for George to come home from the studio. Then I felt water.

"Oh no.... My water broke." I said trembling.

"Lucy! I'm home!" George said coming through the door.

I stumbled over to him.

"Get in the car now! My water broke!" I cried.

His face contorted into worry.

"Ok, let's get to the hospital."

George drove like a manic, avoiding sharp turns.

"FUCKING HELL GEORGE!" I screamed.

"Sorry." He sheepishly said.

"Please, please get there faster!" I screamed.

"We're here!" George parked and I got out.

He helped me sort of jog in there and yelled.

"My wife is in labour! Please get her some help!"

"George?!" A girl stood up.

"Oh Christ not now!" He groaned.

A nurse with a wheel chair came in and she wheeled me to a room.

She helped me lay on a bed.

"Is there any pain dear?" She asked.

"Yes, My Babies!" I cried.

My twins thrashed and throttled in my stomach.

"Get 'em the fuck out!" I cried in pain.

George rushed in with a doctor.

His expression was pained.

He held my hand.

"It's ok baby, they'll be here soon." He kissed my hand.

The nurse gave me a painkiller and I swallowed it. Soon after my eyes felt heavy.

"I love-" I feel asleep before I could finish the sentence.

I awoke, and there was no more pain.

I felt my stomach and there was no large bump.

"George?" I asked.

I saw him get up with Toby and Vera in his arms.

I gasped, tears forming in my eyes.

"May I hold them?" I asked softly trying not to burst into tears of joy.

"Of course! Yer their mum!" George heartily laughed.

He laid them in my arms.

Toby was the smallest, and he looked exactly like George. He had a full head of chocolate brown hair and dark eyebrows.

Vera looked like a mixture of me and George. Her hair was on the lighter side, and I could tell she would grow up to be a beauty.

"They're beautiful." I choke up.

George grabbed a chair and pulled it up next to me.

"Toby was born first." George said.

"He has brown eyes."

"Oh Toby will be just like daddy won't he?" I stroke Toby's cheek.

"I will always love you." I softly said to my newborn children.

They whined a bit and little Vera opened her eyes to reveal dark chocolate eyes.

"Yer gonna be a daddy's girl, I can feel it little Vera." I tapped her nose.

She crinkled her nose under my touch and Toby woke up. He looked at George and smiled a little bit.

George laughed.

"Look at daddy's boy."
