Chapter Ten: Meeting Old Friends

-Max's P.O.V.-

After Alecxis left with Leo to talk to him, an awkward silence fell over us adults.

"So... How's your guys' new lives?" I tried starting a conversation.

"Good. Ash replied.

"Brilliant!" Moeka exclaimed happily like a child. {No offence!}

"My life's pretty good." Summer answered.

Myself and the other fathers were basically dragged here. I could tell by their facial expressions that they'd rather be somewhere else or at home.

I exhaled slowly.

Well, this is great. Just great.

The three girls talked among themselves and the boys did the same. I just sat there because I didn't exactly know these guys. I mean, I knew Alecxis' friends. Barely. But their husbands?! Not a chance. 

I would've liked to say hi but I decided to stay quiet.

"Hey guys! Sorry about that." Alecxis returned and sat down beside me. "Leo's just a bit shy."

"A bit?" Nick retorted.

Alecxis didn't answer. I sighed and looked at my phone.

"Alecxis, we have to go soon. The kids have their tests on in another hour." I whispered to Alecxis.

"Oh god! I forgot!" Alecxis shouted out loud. "Oops!" she covered her mouth and looked down.

All the others gave us a confused look but I stayed quiet.

After about ten more minutes of the girls talking, we had to go. I had a feeling that once we left, the others will probably stay for like, five more hours. 

I couldn't blame them if they did do that. Honestly, I don't really know any of them, Leo is being very fussy about who he plays with, Maria looks happy enough but asked could we go home and Alecxis is the only one who even remotely knows who these people are!

Actually, Alecxis definitely knew whoever one there was.

-Alecxis' P.O.V.-

"Why didn't you talk?" I asked Max. 

"Because I don't even know them! All I know about them is their names, their childrens' names and their childrens' ages." he replied, helping Leo into the chopper.

"I guess... Sorry I had  to drag you there but Moeka suggested that we all have a gathering type thing. She has stayed in contact with Ash's family and Summer's family a lot longer than me. In fact, I think they all live on the same estate." I explained.

"Ok. Why did they leave the compound?"

"Why'd you ask?"

"Just wandering.

"Alright. Well, I think that because they aren't very high ranking families, they are in less danger from villains than we are. Also I think their extended families live pretty near them too whereas our families still live at the H.Q. compound."

"Thanks." 

"We're here, Max." I said.

"Come on kids, time for your blood tests." Max led Maria and Leo to Lab Five for some blood tests.

The tests are take for many reasons, one of which are for the scientists to see if either of them will gain anymore powers.

I went back to our house to drop off our things and grab my report. I had gone to Fifth Earth, Bakugan Battle Brawlers two days ago and I still haven't handed up my report.

I grabbed the dull brown envelope on my desk and headed to the commissioner's office.

I just got out of the office and was on my way to Lab Five. My phone went of. I checked it and I had a new text message.

Max: Hurry to Lab Five.

Alecxis: On my way now.

I ran to Lab Five.

"What is it?!" I asked, as I opened the door.

"Nothing." Max replied, sitting on a medical bed with a sleeping Leo and a very tired Maria.

"God, don't scare me like that!" I shouted quietly, as to not wake up Leo. I had just figured out that this was one of Max's 'pranks'. "Remind me to kill that flame brain brother of mine next time I see him." I was talking about Aidan when I said this.

"I will." Max was grinning.

"With you grinning like that, I don't think I'm safe anywhere, not even in a maxed out, high leveled security compound." I groaned.

"That's a bit harsh." Max said, pretending to be hurt by my words. 

I was carry Leo while Max was giving Maria a piggy-back ride.

When we put them both to sleep, I received the test results.

"Max, come here for a second." 

Max came over to me and looked at what I was pointing at.

"Oh god. Of all magic, why THAT one?!"

"Shush. The kids are sleeping." I gave out to Max.

"Sorry... But why teleporting? It's hard enough with Leo having Super Speed but with the two of them being able to teleport?! Life's just gone down hill."

"Don't be such a downer. It'll be good for Maria and Leo so they can get away easy enough if things get to hard." I tended to be optimistic about a lot of things.

"Easy for you to say, you've already handled this kind of stuff with Kyle and Kyra but I've no experience with Teleporters."

 "Whatever. It's time for us to get some sleep." I changed into my pajamas and got into bed. Max got in after me.

"Goodnight X."

"Goodnight Max."

Also, I'm sorry if I get the character's personalities wrong! I know that most of them are OCs. I'm not sure about Nick though... I'll have to ask. I think his character is either based on, or is Nick Van Ill. And the nickname Flame Brain comes from Fairy Tail. I used it because Aidan's main magic is fire and magma.
