First of all, yes, the picture above is of me. And yes, I know my nose is on the big side, so I don't need anyone pointing that out. And I don't usually wear that much makeup, but that was for a friend's Halloween party.
Alright. Anyhoo, I wanted to write something in here about color correction because it is amazing and oh so helpful.
If you looked at the picture, you'll notice that I was in the midst of a breakout as well as the fact that I had not been sleeping well, so under my eyes was darker than usual. In order to cover this up, I used some color correcting concealer that I had. To cover up acne or any other type of redness, you have to use green concealer. I know that probably sounds crazy to put green on your face unless you're trying to be Frankenstein's monster, but in fact green cancels out red.
And to cover dark circles under your eyes, use either a yellow or peach colored concealer. Peach is more subtle, so I prefer that, but to each their own.
Hard Candy makes a concealer palette that is wonderful! It comes with peach, green, lavender (which can be used as a highlight because lavender brightens skin tones), and three more natural colors. I couldn't find one that came with my color concealer, all they had was tan. But it's great for contouring if you're white as a ghost like me! lol
