When Brian woke again Melanie was curled up in a ball close to the edge of the bed. He turned on the light next to the bed and checked the time on his phone. He shook her gently, speaking her name softly.
"Good afternoon," he said when she finally rolled over onto her back.
"What time is it?" she asked, throwing an arm over her eyes.
"Weren't we supposed to check out hours ago?"
"I booked the room for two nights."
"I did. Thought we could spend the day in bed, with no interruptions."
He leaned over and kissed her lips, but she didn't open her mouth.
"You don't want to do that."
"Why?" he chuckled.
"Because I can taste how awful it is."
"That doesn't bother me."
"It bothers me. Ugh. I need a toothbrush and a bottle of aspirin."
"Yes," she said. "It's a bad one."
"How about I order us some room service then I'll call the concierge and see if they can bring you a toothbrush and aspirin."
"That would be great. Just scrambled eggs and toast for me. And a Coke. I need some caffeine."
She got up and headed to the bathroom while he made the phone calls. She took a shower, hoping the hot water would help her feel better. Afterwards, she towel dried her hair and slipped on one of the hotel robes that hung on the back of the bathroom door.
"Feel better?" he asked when she came out.
"Here's the stuff you requested." He held out a hand with 2 toothbrushes, toothpaste and a bottle of aspirin.
"Thank you so much," she said, taking the items from him and heading back into the bathroom.
When she returned the food cart was next to the bed. She grabbed the glass of soda and took a large gulp of it. She carried it over to her side of the bed and sat down. Brian handed her a plate of food and a fork. They watched tv while they ate and afterwards she laid down under the covers.
"I'm gonna take a quick shower," he said, getting up to wheel the food cart out into the hall.
"I'll be right here."
Twenty minutes later he reappeared with wet hair and a towel around his waist. He climbed under the covers and snuggled up next to her.
"How's your head?" he asked, putting an arm over her and kissing her cheek.
"Yeah? Feeling good enough to have a little fun?"
He continued to kiss her cheek and nibbled on her earlobe. She shuddered.
"I could probably be persuaded."
"You smell good," he said into her ear, his voice low.
"So do you."
She laid there and closed her eyes, allowing him to have his way with her. He moved slowly down her body, seeming to kiss every inch of her skin. He reached for the tie on her robe as he kissed her between her breasts. His right hand slipped inside and made contact with her pussy, which was already wet.
She spread her legs, causing the robe to fall open. He separated her lips, his fingers taunting her, the tips dancing just outside of her opening. She squirmed, trying to get his fingers inside her, but he pulled his hand away.
"God damnit," she muttered, causing him to grin.
He put his hand on her knee and slid it slowly back towards her heat. He knew he was driving her crazy, and he loved every moment of it. Without warning he inserted a finger. It curled upward, immediately finding the spot she longed to have touched.
He kissed her abdomen, which made her flinch. He inched his body down the bed he and licked and sucked her clit from above.
"Jesus Brian," Melanie said, her back arching.
He slid another finger inside her and rubbed her furiously. His tongue lapped up all of her when she came a minute later. He pulled the towel from around his waist and tossed it on the floor before moving his body between her legs.
He grabbed her knees and pushed her legs back up by her torso. Her hands replaced his as he lined himself up to enter her. His arms rested on either side of her shoulders as began to drive into her.
"Oh my God," she moaned as he pushed deep inside of her. "Fuck that feels good."
His pace steadily increased and it didn't take long to send her over the edge. It was only seconds later that he was spilling into her. He collapsed next to her, both of them panting, as she stretched out her legs.
A couple of minutes later he was laying on his side facing her. She turned her head to look at him.
"What?" she asked.
"You're so beautiful."
"You always say that."
"Because it's true." He tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and brushed her cheek with the back of his hand. "Do you want to go back to sleep?"
"Yes. Do you?"
"You wore me out. I could nap."
She pulled the covers up over them and moved next to him. He held her to him as they both drifted off to sleep.
Over three hours had passed before she woke again. She felt groggy and disoriented, and once again her head was pounding. It wasn't a hangover headache, but more like the one she'd had in Belize.
Brian emerged from the bathroom as she tried to collect her thoughts.
"Hey," he said, sliding back under the covers. "Everything ok?"
"My head hurts."
It was evident from the look on her face that she was in a tremendous amount of pain.
"You're not still hungover?"
"No. This one is worse than that." A tear trickled out of the corner of her eye.
"Do you need a doctor? Do you want to go to the hospital?"
"No. I'll be fine."
"Do you have a history of migraines?"
"What can I do for you?" he asked, concern in his voice.
"Can you get me the aspirin and some water please?"
Without saying a word he got up and went to the bathroom, returning seconds later. After she swallowed the pills she laid back down, curling up in the fetal position facing away from him. He spooned her, surrounding her tiny body with his, wanting to take her pain away. Another tear trickled from her eye as she closed her eyes and fell back asleep.
