A/N: This first story is based on a head canon I seen on Tumblr.
It was a cool day in Snowdin, it's famous snow fell lightly onto pathways and roofs. Monsters, kid and adult alike were enjoying their time outdoors.
Papyrus sighed, antsy from just sitting in front of his and his brother's house all early morning. He glanced to his side, empty eye sockets trying to lock onto his brother and failing.
"...SANS?" His brother lazily looked up from his book, the title too small for Papyrus to read.
"yeah, bro?"
"...WHAT IS IT THAT YOU'RE READING?" Sans shrugged and flashed his brother the cover. Papyrus squinted at the blurry text for a second before giving up. "O-OH... I SEE..."
The shorter skeleton continued reading in silence, scanning the pages of his book. Papyrus didn't get to see Sans reading anything other than bedtime stories often. There was a few more beats of the comfortable silence before Sans piped up. "...if you're bored you can try reading it?"
Papyrus tensed, already scanning his mind for an excuse. "NONSENSE, BROTHER! IF THE GREAT PAPYRUS WERE THAT BORED, HE WOULD HAVE ALREADY LEFT TO DO SOMETHING ELSE! IN ADDITION, HE WOULD NEVER READ SOMETHING THAT ASSUMABLY CHILDISH."
An eyebrow rose on his brother's face. "heh... i bet if you tried it, reading about quantum physics might not seem as immature, bro."
Papyrus knew he was acting suspicious enough. If he denied his brother a second time over something seemingly so innocent, Sans would definitely catch onto his... sight problem. "NYEH! FINE! ... can you pass me the book?"
Wordlessly, Papyrus was passed the book and the taller skeleton held it close to his face. Squinting, he was able to see that there were no quantum physics in this book! It was filled with jokes! "SANS! ALL THERE IS IN THIS BOOK ARE JOKES!"
Sans, now looking at his brother with a confused mix of concern and amusement replied. "really? all i can see is your skull."
Papyrus blushed and put the book down, crossing his arms and pouting like a child. "I wasn't THAT close to the page..."
Sensing the tension, Sans pried himself from his seat, practically dragging himself to his feet. "howza bout we go build some snowbones? it's bound tibia great time."
"SANS!" Papyrus shouted, getting to his feet as well.
"heh."

"SANS!"
"...yeah, bro?" Sans glanced up from his spot on the floor towards Papyrus, who stood in the kitchen entrance.
"...WHAT IS TORNADO SAUCE?" The younger asked carefully.
"tornado sauce? it's a-" Sans frowned, looking at nothing as he processed the question. "...tornado sauce?"
Papyrus blushed as he gestured to the kitchen. "Uh... well, you see, UNDYNE LENT ME A COOKBOOK! I'M TRYING OUT A NEW RECIPE FOR THE FIRST TIME AND, well... IT'S REQUIRING TORNADO SAUCE."
"heh..." Sans rolled onto his back, staring at the floor above him before looking back to his brother. "...you mean tomato sauce, right?"
"RIGHT! I MUST HAVE MISREAD THE RECIPE..."

"...next tiME ON MTTTV AN INTERVIEW WITH THE GLAMOROUS, AMAZING, FABULOUS... METTATON!" Papyrus turned the TV's volume up until the text grew into upper case letters.
Sans stared at his brother worriedly. "hey, bro...?"
"YES, BROTHER?" The taller of the two replied, muting the TV and turning to the eldest.
"i don't mean to ignore your bonedries or anything, but..." Sans' face held a lot of concern. "...how's your vision? i know i'm usually quiet about these things, but you've been squinting a lot and-"
"MY VISION IS PERFECTLY ADEPT, SANS... I have NO idea where you could get such a PREPOSTEROUS idea. AND even if my vision WERE a bit blurry, dark and nearly incompetent, I have lived with it all my life and I can live with it NOW." Papyrus fidgeted under Sans' unimpressed stare. "...IF that were the case, of course."
The TV seemed much more interesting to Sans all of a sudden. They spent few minutes staring at the TV before Sans spoke. "hey... i'm going to the dump. don't think of me as trashy or anything, but i'm going to pick up a few things."
Papyrus raised an eyebrow, confused. "WHY THE BOLD TEXT, BROTHER?"
Sans shrugged, grunting quietly as he lifted himself from his comfortable position on the couch. "don't worry 'bout it. it's temporary."
Sans smiled, glad that Papyrus didn't need to squint in order to see his text properly.

"WHAT ARE THESE FOR?" Papyrus asked, carefully lifting a pair of blocky green framed glasses.
"try them on, bro. the answer will become crystal clear once you do." Sans replied, smiling with only a small hint of nervousness. (Would his brother be upset?)
"... I DON'T THINK-"
"please? they'll make everything look less blurry and reading easier." Sans practically begged. If he were being honest, he should have got his bro glasses the first time he noticed something was wrong.
Papyrus looked away in a pout. "HOW? HOW DID YOU FIGURE IT OUT? I WAS DOING SUCH A GOOD JOB AS WELL. BUT ALAS, MY SECRET HAS BEEN SOILED WITH POOR HIDING, HASN'T IT?"
Sans sighed. "well, i guess you're too cool for secrets, bro. plus, you weren't exactly being subtle." Papyrus pouted some more, foot ready to stop in irritation. The great Papyrus didn't need glasses... did he? "just try them?"
Papyrus delivered one powerful stop to their living room floor. "I SUPPOSE THE GREAT PAPYRUS COULD GIVE THEM A TRY..." The taller skeleton closed his eyes and slipped on the glasses quickly, like ripping a bandaid, he guessed.
He took a deep breath, in and out, before opening his eyes. The first thing he noticed was that he was able to see his brother! Fully! "WOWIE!" He flinched at his text box, able to see now how loud his voice was. "W-wowie... everything is so... seeable."
"better, bro?" Sans asked, excited by his younger brother's reaction to clearer sight. "I have some different prescriptions if you need..."
"No. This is much better, brother." Papyrus paused. "You stopped talking in bold." He pointed out.
Sans shrugged. "Guess I didn't need it anymore, bro."
