Rain

How beautiful, the rain

Your portrait, a work of art

It matches my pain

And reflects my heart

Oh, the sky

Together, we cry

In symphony

But in agony

Devoured by gray

It takes over the day

My soul is dying

But I'm still trying

We struggle together

Beaten and torn

But a new being born

One much stronger

And can last so much longer

In the rain, I stand

With my two feet on land

Drenched and wet

I recall my memories of regret

Can I count how many times I've failed?

Or the number of times I've bailed?

Over time, memories fade

Both the good and the bad

But new ones are made

So leave behind the sad

The soft drumming

It echoes in my mind

Much like the humming

From people far from kind

Every drop

Is my every tear

I cry so much

My eyes might pop

But how should I cope

With all these fears

Built up in years?

So I say

Just let it rain

Wash away my dismay

And drown my pain
