What surprise me about this whole ordeal was the fact that I felt some sort of relief. Yes, I was being carried through the forest by a couple of naked lycans, arriving towards the destination that is known as my death, but that--it made me feel so relieved. I knew that I would soon leave the mortal world and rejoin with my parents in the afterlife, and I was incredibly excited for this.

"Wipe that grin off your face, you fat piece of--"

"Ethan, leave the girl be. She'll get the torture that she deserves from Alpha himself," the man carrying me chuckled out.

Ethan rolled his eyes. "Look, Myles, I get that your the big brother and all, but I can make my own decisions."

"You sure about that, Pup?" he warned him, tightening his hold on me.

Honestly, his hold was becoming so tight that I was having some difficulty breathing. But I didn't say anything about it, not wanting them to yell at me or prolong my needed death.

"Anyways, where's Alpha? Wasn't he just at the pack?" Ethan asked.

Myles nodded. "Yea, but he had other things to take care of. He isn't that far away--just a few more minutes at the most." With that said, we continued our journey in silence, my nerves slowly getting out of control. I wanted to puke due to how nervous yet excited I was.

Around five minutes later, I began to feel a shift in the wind. My wolf was on high alert, growling at the tense atmosphere.

He's here. . .

Right after my wolf said this, a low growl was heard from the dense undergrowth of the forest. A gasp escaped my mouth when Myles dropped me on the ground, stepping on my back to keep me in place.

"Hey, Alpha! Look what we got for you!" Ethan boasted out as he glared downwards at me.

Myles sighed. "Do you ever keep your mouth shut?"

"I have a better suggestion. Why don't you both shut up!" A low, raspy voice growled out, instantly causing my two kidnappers to bow in respect.

"Yes, Alpha." they said together.

I didn't dare glance up at the creature that emitted such powerful aura. Even my own Alpha's dangerous aura was child's play compared to his. And yet, despite such a negative aura flowing from this male, my wolf seemed rather excited about something. I knew it wasn't the fact that we were more than likely about a minute from joining our parents in the afterlife. She'd beg me cling on to this cruel and unforgiving world. No, it was something else, and I wanted to know what it was.

Azura. . .look up at him. I promise that he won't hurt you.

My wolf had gone insane--that was my only explanation for her request. The Alpha in front of me growled lowly, his tone not threatening, but commanding. "Little One, let me see your face. Now!"

Not able to go against his Alpha command, I had no choice but to glance up at him. My eyes widened slightly at his undeniably attractive appearance. His hair was ebony black, so black that even the moonlight above couldn't reflect much light on his hair, and his eyes were a deep brown, resembling milk chocolate in an odd way. His skin was tanned, but not dark, and there was stubble on his face, as if he hasn't shaved in a couple of days. And his height seemed to be around the six foot range, making him at least a foot and three inches taller than me. My neck was already aching some from craning my head up for this length of time. But what startled me the most was the scent that was rolling off of him in waves. It smelled so addicting, a combination of the forest and a hint of apple.

The entirety of his eyes turned black, and another growl fled his mouth. "Mate. . ."

I gasped, hearing my wolf purr in my mind.
