Chapter Twenty-Two

Start from the beginning

"Breili!" Dad called for me.

Finally my chance.

I flew towards Derringer and pushed his chair down and his head bumped against the floor. "You piss me off." Then I killed him. I stabbed the daggers into his skull and the guns into his gut. When I knew he was dead, I stood up. My fingernails came back.

I dropped to the ground, feeling dizzy. "What did I just do?"

Dad looked over at Riley. "Riley, carry her. She may faint. We need to catch a plane. But before we leave, I'm taking Derringer's body. Someone could fix him, and we don't need that now, do we?"

Riley scooped me up and I leaned my head against his chest.

The rest of the day seemed like a blur to me. All I can remember is that Dad got us a plane and we were going home. I was asleep through most of it. Killing a person - a robot, even - can really make you feel...different. I've never done anything like this before. I'm not evil. But sleep can get me to escape everything.

Third Person Point of View

On the plane ride, while Breili was asleep, Anakin approached Spence. He was nervous, but he had to do it.

Clenching his sweaty fists, he said, "Spence, we need to talk."

"Okay," she said softly.

"I'm sorry for yelling at you. I shouldn't have done that. I just got...irritated."

She nodded. "I'm sorry for annoying you."

"Please don't be mad at me for this, but I don't want to be together anymore. I'm so sorry, but I just can't do this anymore. I want to be single for a little while. I'm going to college soon. And you know I'll be gone a lot since I'm studying abroad. I don't want things to happen when I'm gone. And I'm sure there's a guy for you out there who will care for you more than I ever could."

She looked into his eyes. "You mean it?"

He nodded. "Yeah. You're one of my closest friends; you always will be, but I don't want to be close like this."

She nodded, and a half smile curled on her lips. "Thank you," she said barely audible.

Anakin's chest hurt. He wasn't upset by this, but all the tension of saying it made his chest hurt. But then, when he looked over at Breili, he relaxed. He realized there was someone else he'd care for more than any other person in the world. Besides Sophia, of course. Breili. He was in love with her. He had been from the start, but he pushed it away. Now, he was letting it embrace his heart. He was finally giving in. He loved Breili.

Sophia talked with Riley while Jett fell asleep. She adored talking to him. He was nice and she understand why he was so kind to Breili now. For awhile, she thought Riley was in love with Breili, secretly. But he wasn't at all. He just wanted her to be safe.

"So I heard Jett was naked this morning?"

Sophia's cheeks burned. "Please, I don't want to talk about that."

"Oh, come on. Now you gotta say it," Riley grinned and playfully punched her in the shoulder.

She rolled her eyes. "That's none of your business, Mr. Olson."

He laughed. "Come on. Tell me. Did you two...?"

She swore her face was purple, but it was just extremely red. She looked away from Riley.

"Whoa. I didn't think you were like that."

"Still none of your business," she pointed out.

"Would you tell Bry? You know what she hears I hear."

"Oh really?"

He nodded, smiling.

"Well, I might tell her. But she'd probably figure it out anyways." She crossed her arms. "But, if you really want to know, yes, I'm not really like that, but Jett and I have known each other for a long time. And it's okay. But now..." She sighed.

"What?"

She shook her head. "I dunno. I just don't feel...happy anymore. The more he wants to be with me, the less I want to be with him. I don't know why. I just feel...uncomfortable now. I think...well, I can't help myself, but I think I like someone else. That's confidential, of course, but I think I do."

"Well, then break up with Jett. Tell him you still want to be friends, but not dating anymore. You fell out of love. Wait a few months, and then find the guy you think you like. Maybe you actually do, or will, in a few months."

She nodded. "Thanks, Ry. I'll talk to him after all this stuff...dies down. And things are...normal."

Riley smiled and hugged her. "It's no problem. You can tell me anything."

I can't, she thought, because the person I like. Is you.

First Person Point of View

Two months later...

People began to forget that I ran away. That the mansion was blown into pieces. That I disappeared from the hospital in Japan. But there was something they never, ever forgot. I'm the first human to survive being half robot. I have become famous across the world, but I don't go around giving speeches. Instead, I have decided that I will go to schools where kids with disabilites go to. I want to inspire them. They can be anything. But I've not done that yet. I won't for another month, actually. The first place I'm going to is Edward School of Disabilites, about two miles away from the new mansion.

Oh yes, we built a new mansion in Vegas. Well, we bought a mansion, but we're adding in some Van Doile characteristics. We're pretty much remodeling it all, but it's no big deal.

Anyway, to update you on my friends, they're fine! Sophia broke up with Jett the night we came home, which was surprising and completely random, but I knew why. Riley told me. He said he was secretly happy, but they aren't together or anything. Eli and Spence are going out. No, I have no hard feelings towards this. They're cute together. It does make me sad that he picked someone over me, but I'm happy that she moved on from Anakin.

Speaking of Anakin, he left for school last month. He's in London right now. We Skype on the weekends, but not a lot. I started college, too. I'm studying to become an archeologist. But not the average archeologist who discovers things on Earth. We've discovered different sorts of things on planets. Far, far away there are planets that are breatheable to humans, but no one's been there of course. My goal is to be the first to go there.

All is well. Crystal and Cooper got married, and announced she was having a baby. Jett's a bar tender now, and he helps the depressed people. He says it really helps him out with discussing people about his problems as well.

Everything is perfect. Well, perfect in the way it should be. Soon, it'll become more perfect, but not just yet. In the future, things are going to change. More and more people are going to look up to me, The Robot Girl.

A/N: Hey guys! I just wanted you to know I'm making a sequel soon! I'm not quite sure what to title it, but if you could think of any suggestions, that'd be great :)

The sequel is about when all of them are older; about 7 years, actually. So all of them are out of college, and they're going on an adventure. To another planet :D

If that helped any for title suggestions, please comment some! Thank you so much!
