XI - By you... Always ?

What could sanyukta possibly be hiding Randhir thought. Sleeping pills ... What did she need them for ?

This girl was his Sanyukta. He was Even worried now. He just sat there turning pages of her photo album when he heard the door clicked open. He quickly got under the bed.

It was Sanyukta. She peeped under the bed and called out "It's okay. It's just me"

He came out and grinned. She put the breakfast tray on the bedside table and noticed the photo album and her medicines lying on her bed. She got tensed and looked onto Randhir nervously.

She then quickly gathered the lying things and put it inside cupboard saying "Rubbish things. I always mess up my room. Don't mind" she laughed.

She handed him a piece of toast and helped herself with it too. He took a bite and asked slowly "Why did you do it Sanyukta?"

She looked up with questioning eyes

"Do what?"

"Why hide from me ?"

"Hide what ? Randhir"

"All the time, you knew me. You knew who I was yet you never spoke about it. Why? " his was cracking

"I didn't know. I... I didn't know that it was you. I never had seen how you looked when you had grown up. When I met you in college I didn't recognize you. I made you my friend and we got quite close. It was only the last day I got to know who you really were"

Randhir who was patiently listening spoke up "That's why you were asking about my childhood friends the other day"

"Yes. And you said you didn't have any friend. I was angry on you for that. In fact I still am cross. You had forgotten me. How mean is that !"

"Hey, I never had forgotten you. You know whenever I was seeing you I was remembering.... You" he said awkwardly "I mean I was reminded of the small you"

"Liar" she snapped

"I swear. I still have your pics. Look" he showed her his phone where he too had some old pics of theirs. She smiled seeing it and pulled his cheeks lovingly

"Fine. I'll let you Live this time but if you lie again, I might execute you." She said dramatically

"Okay. Let's promise each other that we won't hide anything from Each other" he said

"That's nice. Promise" she replied

"Anything" he stressed with raised eye brows

"Yess. I promise" she said

"Me too" he smiled and asked "Now that you have promised tell me what are you hiding?"

"Hiding?" She coughed out water which she was drinking .

"Yea. About those medic stuff in your room" he said pointing towards the medicine bottles

"Those...those are just vitamin supplements" she stammered

"Liar. Those are sleeping tabs and ADs." He lashed

"No. You're mistaken" she argued

"No I'm not." He said calmly and when she didn't reply he bellowed "What the hell are they doing here?"

"Shh.. It's my house. People reside here" she warned him.

"Sanyu...what was that?" Ankit called out

"TV bhai" she replied and looked back at him and crossed her arms against her chest and asked "What do you want?"

"Truth"

"About?"

"About your Dr.shaila. and these meds"

"Fine. I'll tell you. " she put the breakfast tray aside

"First, Dr.Shaila is my doctor"

He glared his eyes

"She's my psychiatrist. She treats me. Sleeping pills is obviously because I can't sleep and ADs was given to cope up with depression"

"I'm not asking general facts. I'm asking why you are taking them" he pointed

"Sleeping pills because I don't get sleep at night...due to nightmares" she whispered

"Nightmares ? About what?" He asked confused

"About that night" she cried

"What night? What are you talking about?" He asked her

She hugged him and sobbed onto his shirt.

"When I was in highschool, I had a senior Sameer. I used to like him a lot. One day he came up to me and asked me to become his girlfriend. I was happy and I accepted it. Things were fine upto a month. One day he had asked me to meet me in his house at night. I lied in my house that I'm going at Vidushi's and went there. I was very excited. No one was there in his house.He asked me to prove my love towards him by....by sleeping with him." She broke down

She could feel Randhir's grip on her body increasing. He was angry on that Sameer. Yet he patiently waited for sanyukta to continue. She took a deep breath and spoke again

"I told him I couldn't. I wouldn't. When I told him that he called up some of his friends and they...they tried to force me into it." She cried bitterly. Randhir was boiling in anger.

"Fortunately mom Happened to have found out where I was and rushed there to my rescue. If not for I probably would have..."
Randhir pressed his lips on hers. They kissed for about a minute or two and broke it realizing what they just did.

Both looked away. Randhir turned back to her again.

"That was past. That jerk didn't deserve you. " he assured

"But that still haunts me. Memories of that night... It scares me. I can't sleep because of it. Slowly after the incident I was going into depression and from then I started using ADs and pills"

"You're taking no such meds from today" he ordered "even the doctor says the same"

"But" she tried to intervene

He held her shoulders " You're strong sanyukta. You can stand up to everyone. Remember how you came to fulfill your dreams against your family. You can't let some idiotic person control you. You have to get over it"

"I want to but I can't" she said

"You will. Slowly. You will. I'm there with you. By you " he said

"Always?" She asked innocently

"Always. " he hugged her .
